John Lewis Classic Duck Feather and Down Duvet, All Seasons 13.5 Tog (9+4.5 Tog)
Not great for winter
This is a lovely heavy duvet when it is cold outside but the poppers that keep the two layers together are terrible so they keep opening and you have to remake the duvet every night. i would not recommend this product and suggest you buy one with proper buttons

I don't know if the poppers on the duvets are good or not because the 9-tog duvet is warm enough for me. I gave it a really good airing (thumping, smacking and shaking it vigorously to plump up) and am happy with the results. It is a little heavier than I was expecting but is so luxurious. It does have a little crinkly sound but it is not loud and is hardly noticeable. There was no nasty smell as can sometimes be found with feather/down duvets. The most amazing aspect of my order was that I ordered by phone (with a lovely helpful lady!!) at 5pm-ish and the item was in my local Waitrose before 1pm the next day. What fantastic customer service. Well done John Lewis :) Would recommend this duvet and your service!!

Agree with everyone else! Comes apart!
I agree with the other comments. I bought this in October and am really disappointed in it. It constantly comes apart and I end up crawling around in the duvet cover trying to re-snap it! Was just looking into buying an alternative as a replacement. I am at least happy to read that john lewis will consider refunding it... I will be contacting them in the morning!

I bought this as thought it was the same as one I got 3 years ago from John Lewis, however, the buttons which are on the original have been replaced by very cheap poppers which are useless. Each night I fear pulling the duvet up as if I do, it always unpops leaving half of the duvet to go roaming and clumping elsewhere, then in the morning I have the hassle of having to take the cover off and re-pop the poppers. Really am so disappointed with this product, it is hopeless. The button version from the past is so amazingly fantastic in comparison. The poppers just are not strong enough to cope with the weight of the duvet, think this product seriously needs rethinking. Not impressed.

I am really pleased with this duvet . It is of excellent quality and I would thoroughly recommend it to others.
The 2 components make it very versatile and suitable for use in all temperatures .
Well Done John Lewis !

Not as good as the 'same' one I bought a few years ago
I bought this duvet as it appeared to be exactly the same one that I purchased a few years ago (although I was now buying a king size instead of double). Unfortunately it is no where near as good a quallity. Although it is exactly the same filling and tog it is no where near as thick and even after shaking it feels like in some pockets there is hardly any filling at all. Like the other reviewers I would take it back if it wasnt so big and bulky.

could be better
I don't think this is as warm or thick as it should be given the tog rating. I bought a similar one from TK Maxx last year and assumed because it was John Lewis it would be at least as good in quality. It is not. Also the poppers that hold the 2 layers together are really poor and it comes apart almost as soon as it is re fastened, meaning there is an area over our shoulders with just one layer of duvet. I will have to sew in extra poppers to remedy this. Overall I am sorry to say I am disappointed with this product

'New Classic' Not the same as the old Classic
I bought this today and have only just removed it from the box and tried to fluff it up. Already I can see the quality is less than the almost identical duvet I bought in July for a spare bed but which did not have the words 'new classic' in the title. The one in July is much better quality, fluffier, thicker and does up with buttons rather than cheap poppers.
Very disappointing, if I could fit it back in the box I would return it.
