John Lewis Non-Stick Single Egg Poacher
Not Non Stick
I bought this last week for my daughter who loves poached eggs - it is most definitely not non stick. We have used it three times and it is going in the Bin. It is a nightmare to clean.

Works if you know how!
Doesn't come with instructions which I think is the cause of most peoples problems. It works really well and poaches a large egg in 4-5 minutes. Hang it over the side with water level with bottom of poacher, bring to boil then add egg, and put a lid on. The only problem is that it's tricky to clean. I wipe it with butter before I put in the pan, and the cooked egg comes out by sliding a knife around the edge. It takes a bit of elbow grease with hot soapy water to clean it but otherwise it's great! There is nothing out there better.

John Lewis Nonstick Single egg poacher
This did not work as expected, It is certainly not Non - stick. The unit sloped so that some of the egg poured out into the boiling water, yolk did not cook . The unit did not stay close to the edge of the saucepan maybe I should have used a pair of tongs to hold it upright.. I had to drop the whole poacher unit into the water to cook the egg properly

having read one of the reviews which said it was wonderful, and easy to clean, I was very excited to try these....firstly they are NOT non stick, and secondly they took going on 30mins, and that was with the water already simmering. Thirdly they did not hold my large eggs, the white went over the side!!
Therefore I have returned them and will carry on using the eggs directly in to the water method

I had absolutely no problem working out how to use it, doing a perfect poached egg, and cleaning it afterwards. You just hang it on the side of a pan, and put boiling water in to the pan up to about an inch below the top of the poacher's cup, then break an egg into the cup and bubble the water for two and a half minutes for the perfect poached egg. And I really don't know what the reviewer below is talking about, as it is indeed non-stick, and only took a wipe with a cloth in soapy water to clean it very well. Sadly, they only had one in stock in the shop yesterday, so, having tested it at breakfast time this morning, I'm about to order another!

Wonderful product which works really well, and produces lovely poached eggs. It is rather difficult to clean even in the dish washer. As a result our beloved poacher has started to rust. But we are buying another of the same because at the end of the day - it works - it produces good poached eggs.
(It also can accomodate very large eggs)

What a waste of money. Take ages to poach, then you can't get the egg white thats stuck to them off. They've been in the dishwasher twice, had fairy power spray on them, been left in the sink to soak and they still wont come clean.

simple but quite effective product
This is well designed but the packaging gave no clear instructions as to how to use it. eg should the wter be above the level of the bowl etc. Otherwise good
