John Lewis Padova Over Mirror Bathroom Light
The glass tubes droop!
We have had this product a year and decided to write a review since we need to buy another bathroom light and will not buy this one again. The light looks good when set up, but the problem is that gravity ends up working on the glass tubes and the tubes drop all the time no matter how often you correct it or push them firmly in. This destroys the look of the light. I think the reason the tubes drop is that the two bulbs are not low energy (LED etc) but traditional bulbs which generates a lot of heat. This probably softens the rubber ribs which the tubes push onto. The tubes should have been a screw fit, not a push fit onto fairly flimsy rubber flanges. I would recommend buying a different light.

Padova Over Mirror Bathroom Light
Very neat unit with good light output and easy to install. Not sure why some people had trouble with the seals on the light tubes but all works well if correctly assembled and installed.

No on off switch
This is a lovely looking light but doesn't have a switch on the light so is only suitable for electrical circuits operated by wall switches

Very neat light, but not for LED's
I liked the look of these lights, and was pleased with them when they arrived, they went together well. Unfortunately I had planned to use them with LED bulbs (not the halogen ones supplied) to save energy, and although LED's are available to fit the the bulb socket (G9 type) , only very very dim ones are small enough to fit through the shade's 'neck' . The normal brightness bulbs that I would want to use in a bathroom are too wide. Sadly I am going to have to return them, and start looking more closely before I purchase. I hope that this prevents anyone else making the same mistake. Otherwise a great product.

Good looking bathroom light
Well designed and good to look at. This light looks great in the bathroom. It is also very well priced compared to many other bathroom lights. We will be buying another one and would buy a larger model too if there was one to be bought.

OK but... read me first
I was very happy with this product until it came to the installation. The back plate has one hole for the power cable so the cable must be spot on in the centre. Our mistake I guess, we drilled another in the back plate, but this still only gives you an inch each way to play with.
The thing I was disappointed about is how the glass tubes fit on. They don't screw on (as expected#, they have horrible white rubber ribbed bands over the ends of the glass. You have to push it so hard there is a risk of breaking the glass. And what you don't see on the picture is the last rib of white rubber sits outside the glass #as a seal#, but looks horrible. I was cross as it's not on the picture. We rectified this unslighty problem by putting the rubber seal on backwards #so the last rib goes into the light fitting first as it's wider than the rest# and applying personal lubrication gel to the rubber #rubber safe product). The glass then slides into the fitting perfectly & looks just like the picture!!!
The light it gives is more orange than white & is not bright. Which is also disappointing.

This is exactly what I wanted and I'm very pleased with it. Got an electrician to install it in the bathroom. It has transformed the room from dingy to bright and pleasant.
