John Lewis Paige Ceiling Light, 5 Arm
The product looked good in the shop. It was easy to install, the instructions were ok and looks really good hanging up

Very elegant to look at and the lighting levels from it are just right. We use a dimmer switch therefore we can go from a very warm glow to a very bright intense level of lighting as required.
The lights look lovely when lit and the light fitting was quite easy to fit. They even provided disposal gloves to protect the bulbs. The shades are surprisingly heavy. Very pleased with John Lewis's service, we were kept informed with regards to delivery and the guy who delivered it was very pleasant. Glad we went for the 5 arm, originally was going to get the 3, but it's not overwhelming in the room. All in all, very pleased.

This was the only ceiling light I could find with a matching table lamp and floor lamp. Arrived promptly, carefully packed and easily assembled and fitted by my electrician who commented on its quality. Looks lovely and performs just as expected. Has had compliments from all who have seen it.

Let there be light!!!
I have been looking for a long time to find a light fitting which is elegant and throws enough light in to the room as the energy efficient bulbs are rather gloomy.
At last I have found exactly what I was after in this Paige light fitting. My dining room is illuminated extremely well now and we can at last see what we are eating!!! The light is thrown evenly around the room and no shadow is generated on the ceiling .
We are so pleased with it we are about to purchase the 3 arm version for our bedroom.
Thank you John Lewis.

Lovely design but light bulb hungry
I have had this product for several months now, and really love the design. I bought four matching for my hall stairs and landing but have had to replace the bulbs especially on the one by the front door so many times it has cost me a lot of money and is tedious. I am told that the halogen bulbs don't like the cold air shock... so what to do?
The other three are a bit better but still have required more changes of bulb than I would have expected especially as I bought more expensive long life bulbs from John Lewis at the start. I am waiting to hear from John Lewis to see if they can recommend a solution.
My lights were installed by a known and qualified electrician who says there is no issue with the installation.

Lovely but why halogen bulbs?
This fitting looks lovely and elegant in our refitted house; I've also used in some new-build houses I built. I would give it a 5-rating, but I can't because of my strong irritation over being forced to use halogen lamps.
Why does John Lewis persist in selling a product that uses primitive halogens? There are plenty of LED equivalents available now, rated at 2W per lamp instead of 28W, so all that should be needed is a change to a transformer which can handle the dramatically reduced power requirements.
Also, halogen bulbs are notorious for blowing at frequent intervals, leading to much higher costs that outweigh any saving on electricity.
Dump the halogens - LEDs are the way to go.
