Q & As

Rated 3.2 out of 5 by 12 reviewers.
Rated 2 out of 5 by Disappointing This was purchased as a Christmas gift for me. Wanted to make my own pasta and was excited to get started. The first batch was a disaster (poor recipe) but wasn't helped with this machine. On the lowest (widest) setting it was hard to get the pasta to go through but eventually got the pasta through it and it was OK. With the second attempt it was hard to get the rollers to work on the lowest setting - 1. Setting it to 2 was OK. Later attempts were OK but with the rollers slipping no matter what setting. My last attempt the rollers completely failed so I am going to have to return or exchange the machine. The spaghetti, fettuccine cutter worked fine and was really good. Even for occasional use it would be impossible to recommend this. 04 November 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Really useful product An amazing product. Product easy to assemble and operate. I can in a fun and easy way to make my own pasta. 13 October 2015
Rated 1 out of 5 by Poor quality pasta machine Product is poor quality. The black handle broke on first use, the machine doesn't allow pasta to move through the rollers smoothly or straight, rollers slip, settings dial feels like it's about to fall off. Instructions supplied are poor too. The product looks good in the picture but don't be fooled. Having read others reviews JL should remove this product from its shelves and save their customers the hassle! 21 August 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Mama mia I had previously purchased an expensive Imperia machine and unfortunately the handle broke so I had to get a new one. Reluctant to spend a lot of money on the same brand again, I thought I would try JL own brand and it is much better. It grips to the work top really well and the handle turns with ease, making the whole process effortless. Great value for money too. Recommended. 14 April 2015
Rated 1 out of 5 by Not a very good product. This is not really up to the job. It is very temperamental, with the rollers "slipping" a great deal, especially when on low settings. It just feels too flimsy and toy like. 11 April 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Does the job Initially thought the clamping system was missing a part, however I think they've changed the design to reduce cost. Take care to fit the machined edge of the clamp into the main body. Our first attempt at making pasta went pretty well but needed two people to feed the pasta out of the machine and turn the handle, now that we've made a few more batches my wife no longer needs any assistance. Not sure what you would get for much more money other than some different cutters. 04 January 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Pasta Machine Works as well aas expected. Users need to be careful to get the correct consistency in the mix. 10 September 2012
Rated 1 out of 5 by Poor Quality I bought one of these based on John Lewis products usually being of a high quality. The first one broke on the second use - the handle became increasingly difficult to turn after the first use and got progressively worse. I also noticed that the rollers did not have an even gap between them on any of the settings, resulting in the pasta being pulled to one side.Took it back and swapped it for another one which failed to even work on the first attempt. I have now returned this second item and will purchase my next pasta machine elsewhere. 08 September 2012
