Rated 1 out of 5 by John202 very disappointing
I had expected a John Lewis product to be good quality - this is not.
The build quality is poor and the padding on the seat is very thin.
Don't expect to sit on this chair for any length of time.
Having used the chair for a couple of months, I've now found that the bolts that attach the base to the seat are sticking through the (thin) padding on the seat.
I've contacted customer services to return the chair.
I can't imagine why John Lewis continue to sell this product.

Being a home worker I decided to invest in a quality chair with adjustable features. I went for this one the price and specs were suited to my need.
Assembling the chair took only about 20minutes. However, I was disappointed about the following:
- The base of my chair was scratched
- The armrests were too low and un-adjustable
- The chair seat very uncomfortable to sit on for more than 2hours
- A slight angle of the seat after 4days of use
Obviously, I decided to return the chair and John Lewis van came to collect. I will have to agree that John Lewis customer services is fantastic, however the quality of this item in particular was rubbish.

For the money a good chair. Would like alternative colour options rather than just black.
Easy to assemble apart from one plastic side arm that had one slight misaligned hole with the base - easily trimmed with Stanley knife, about 1mm of plastic removed.
Base foam thin but not a problem for the amount of time chairs are in use - say 3 hours in one session.
Overall fine in use - how they will wear long term has not been assessed

Rated 2 out of 5 by BeckyM1 Not as comfortable as I had hoped
Despite the poor reviews that suggested that this chair would only last a year or so, I decided to buy it as a temporary measure as I found it comfortable in the shop and currently can't afford an ergonomic chair.
When it was delivered I was a little disappointed with the packaging, which seemed a bit 'thrown together' and found that the plastic sheath that covers the support to the back of the chair was dented. However, it wasn't a serious enough defect to be worth sending back given that the chair was relatively inexpensive.
It was quite straightforward to assemble and I managed it single-handed in about half an hour.
I was disappointed to find, however, that the chair was not as comfortable as the one I had tried in the shop (and yes, it was the same model). This may be partly to do with the height of my desk (soon to be replaced) but I do have to use cushions with the chair to get to a comfortable typing position.

Rated 2 out of 5 by apsleyend Good – while it lasted
Very happy with this chair – considering the price – until the three little welds holding one of the castors onto the foot spider failed completely. Chair was useless as a result, after just over two years in use. Took if back to our local John Lewis store where the departmental manager immediately agreed this wasn’t good enough and authorised a replacement or complete refund. I was loathe to take another one away though as, on close inspection, the way of fastening the castors to the spider is decidedly suspect.

The chair was delivered very swiftly. Self assembly is required and as I usually struggle with that sort of thing I was a bit apprehensive. I had already seen the chair in my local store so I knew what to expect. I initially considered assembling it without the arms as I wanted to use it in a fairly confined space, however I then realised that the wheel base was a little larger than my existing chair so that, is in fact, the widest part and the arms could go on. Assembly took a little longer than the suggested time of 15 minutes but I was able to do it without losing my temper. Adjustment of the seat and back is very easy. My main concern is that the seat upholstery is fairly thin and I am still contemplating whether to use a cushion to provide some extra padding. This is why I have rated the seat as average rather than good.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Blue94 A little under a year!
I pretty disappointed with the quality of this purchase. My previous office chair lasted me 5 years. I bought this chair last year, and the plastic wheel has just broke! Now I feel uneven in my seat as I can not wheel my chair around and the seat bobs up and down.
Be warned, this chair is cheap and the wheels are very weak plastic compared to other office chair makes. I would not recommend this product.

Nice comfortable chair. Has everything you could expect for a chair at this (reduced) price. One warning - really not suitable for large people. The seat length (ie from back to front) is about right for average or smaller posteriors and for people of average height.
