Product information

Plain, moisture resistant roller blind in beige with corded side control. Comes complete with screws and brackets for easy assembly. Wipe clean lightly with damp cloth. Width can be cut to size. Safety hook included to keep cords out of reach.

If you’re using this blind in a child’s room, you must fit the safety device provided with the blind to the wall in order to tie up the pull cord safely out of the way of children and pets.

For safety we recommend that you move beds, cots and furniture away from any window fitted with a blind that has a side control mechanism, even with a safety device in place.

Not JL's finest hour We bought four of these blinds and the end result looks attractive. Also cutting the blind to size is not too difficult after the first try. But a bit more attention to detail would have helped. Firstly the screws provided would not fit the holes in the brackets. They were easily replaced from an (IKEA) screw set but do you really want that to happen. Most annoying the instructions did not highlight the issue of the position of the chain stop. On the first blind only about half of the blind could be unrolled. We sorted it out but why not explain what to do in the instructions? 30 April 2013

Roller blind fixings This blind is very good value for money. I have previously bought all my roller blinds from John Lewis and my only comment is that subsequent blinds seem to have different fixings. 07 January 2013

Good result - finally! We bought four of these blinds and were expecting them to be fiddly to fit, so we set aside plenty of time to put them up. It still wasn't enough, though. Three needed a complete overhaul - and a hammer - the following day, as they kept falling down! Fitting them round a three-pane bay window made it a bit tricky but the most annoying aspect was that the instructions didn't say anything about ensuring that the join on the pulling chain was as high to the back of its fitting as possible before you start. Consequently we had to discover by trial and error that, because the chain was quite short, if it wasn't as high as possible at the back, it 'came round' to the front of the fitting as the blind was lowered and blocked the channel at the side of the fitting before the blind was right down to the sill. So the blind could only reach 'half mast' or thereabouts. Knowing this would have saved us several hours! Hope it helps you, as apart from this, they weren't really too bad to fit. Just don't be in a hurry. BTW - Don't be discouraged if the side fittings come apart into their component pieces. They all click back together again if you persevere for a few minutes. Now the blinds are all up they look fine and we're very pleased with them. They haven't fallen down again, either. Yet! 06 January 2013

Good for neutrals I was looking for a blind that went well with my new kitchen from John Lewis, something calming that didn't detract from the overall colour scheme, but enhanced it - and this blind does that very well. My only criticism is that it was a little difficult to follow the instructions - but between us my husband and I got there in the end! 26 September 2012
