Terrible once washed!
The colours and softness of this throw were fantastic when I first bought this, however I have had the same problem as one of the other customers reviewing this product. After the first wash, quite a few threads came loose, after the third wash it now looks completely threadbare. I am very surprised at this given the cost of it. Perhaps the care instructions should be changed to dry clean only. Sorry John Lewis, but this is a very good product, which quickly turns poor once you get it home and start using it.

Anyone else had a problem when washing?
I love the feel and colour of this throw, which is more expensive than others I had looked at in M&S and Laura Ashley. I bought one as a try for colour match, intending to purchase a couple more, but my experience when following the washing instructions has been a disaster. The first time I washed it (on its own) and saw how many pulled threads there were I thought I had made a mistake and it was meant to be dry cleaned only. I meticulously pulled them all to one side, and teased out any 'ruching' so at least I had one 'good' side on view. The second time I washed it I used a net bag and a very low spin speed (600 instead of 1000 rpm in a Miele honeycomb machine which is supposed to be gentle on delicates) and quite frankly it looks worse than ever. As none of the other reviews mention this I am at a loss to know what has gone wrong. Any info gratefully received.

Almost identical to the photograph online
I was absolutely amazed to receive this product so quickly. I ordered it online about 3 p.m. one day and received it at my home the following morning. What a fantastic service.
My friends are always telling me how good John Lewis are to their customers and this really proved them to be right.
I will certainly be visiting/using John Lewis again.

We bought two throws and used them as covers for our two settees - base cushions only not back cushions. Although not recommended for this purpose ours work perfectly giving our room an overall boost, colour wise especially. We have some golden coloured pine furniture yellow settees (not at all garish) and the overall warm, light ambience reminds of Keats' line - 'O for a beaker full of the warm South'.
No problem with wear and tear (bums on seats) would definitely browse and buy from John Lewis again. Throws beautifully soft.
A note on colour - we checked online and instore - the colour online was displayed as close to product as possible.

colour not as shown - is much too yellow
useful throw - but sadly the background colour was much yellower than as shown on the website and does not suit my room very well .. actual article is not blue and grey-brown as shown, but blue and varying shades of cream and very pale brown. Will keep it as I need to use it, and it's too much hassle to arrange return from remote island where I live. Particularly disappointing as I am normally very happy with John Lewis products.

The label says not intended to be used as a cover for upholstery! Surely that is what a throw is for?. As I wished to use it on my sofa, it was returned.

Bought this for my elderly mother-in-law. She is very unwell and her skin is so delicate. She wanted something warm but soft too and this lovely blue checked throw was ideal. We are so thrilled with it.
