Getting the most from your induction pans
All of our John Lewis induction pans are tested to the British and European standards for safety and performance. To ensure the functionality of induction pans, it is important to make sure the magnetic circuit with the hob isn’t broken by:

  • Making sure the size of the pan base is no smaller than the hob ‘ring’
  • Using pans with a flat base
  • Not lifting the pan off the hob top continuously
  • Giving coated and aluminium pans with steel bases more time to heat, as the aluminium sides do not heat directly from the hob

Q & As

Rated 3 out of 5 by 4 reviewers.
Rated 1 out of 5 by Really disappointing I already had a pasta pot and found it very useful but it was showing its age so I decided to replace it. This version is rubbish, there is a big gap between the base of the pan and the inner pan, meaning the pasta doesn't have room to move and often boils over. I don't know why they would ruin a useful product with such bad design. 17 September 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Quality Product I got this for the same reason as the previous reviewer who bought this because they 'wanted to avoid juggling pots, strainers and boiling hot water when making pasta', and i got exactly what i wanted. The quality is brilliant, stainless steel stays like new when you wash it or put it in the dishwasher, it has a good heavy base, and you can also use just the lid and the base if you need an extra casserole. The handles stay cool because they're hollow, and the lid has a steam vent to stop it 'rattling'. I'm absolutely delighted with this pot because i can use it for everything from Potatos, Mussles/Shellfish and even Pasta! in fact any food that you boil and need to strain the water out of. A very worthy 5 stars * * * * * 16 January 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by So easy, perfect pasta I bought this pot because I wanted to avoid juggling pots, strainers and boiling hot water when making pasta. For everyday use like when cooking 3-4 portions of pasta then it works really well. The one point to note is that when it is filled to capacity with for example, 8 portions of spaghetti, just make sure that you keep the lid in place and don't set your hob heat setting too high (in otherwords have simmering water NOT boiling water) and it will perform perfectly. 02 January 2013
Rated 2 out of 5 by Skimpy Pan! I thought this pan would be really useful as I'm fed up with manhandling a large pan of pasta & a colander at the same time. However the internal dimensions of this pan are actually quite small, there's a lot of 'wasted' space beneath the strainer & if you fill it too full it all boils over. Consequently it's fine for cooking pasta for 2 but absolutely useless for spaghetti for 4! I'd always been taught that you need to cook pasta in plenty of boiling water, but that's not possible in this pan. It really needs to be at least a half size larger. 13 November 2012
