John Lewis Steel Contemporary Side/Centre Bracket, Dia.28mm
Screws not fit for purpose
I ordered these brackets to match another pole I had bought from John Lewis three years ago despite the reviews saying the screws supplied were no good..however they were right! The screws are absolutely useless and we needed to go out and buy better screws for this item. Not the usual quality we expect from John Lewis and I think this should be reviewed as the quality is great and the pole looks fab.

We needed to change our existing john Lewis curtain brackets as we were switching from pencil pleat to eyelet curtains. I wish we hadn't. These brackets are appalling quality. the round wall fixings differed in size for the same product but more worryingly the brackets hang forward of the wall fixings and leave a big gap - even with light weight curtains. We bought these for new heavy curtains - which have not yet arrived - but i am dreading putting the up as I know the brackets will not hold them.
Rubbish product and very disappointed in John Lewis.

More than a hook 'n pole combination
This bracket is indeed contemporary, stylish and bright and used in combination with the steel pole provides a remarkable platform for suspension, but only if captured in pairs. A single bracket just doesn't hack it.
Attachment to the wall is cleverly hidden, so when you've put it up it's like magic!
You'll have to fight to keep the gaspers away, luckily it lies hidden 'neath the soft tresses of the Oakley Trees as they scud along their eyelets morning and night.
Only you will know the true power of the bracket and how it assist the glide, at the centre ... or ... the side.

not fit for purpose
We bought theses brackets and a lovely curtain pole to match some months ago (when there were no reviews to help us). We have finally got round to fitting them and they have, within a matter of days, fallen off the wall. As other reviewers have discovered, the enclosed fittings are useless but even buying new rawl plugs and screws have not helped.
We have a couple of the more expensive JL curtain poles and they have been brilliant. These are awful and not fit for purpose. Do not be swayed by their good looks!!!!!!!!!

Not sturdy enough
I recently purchased 3 or these brackets for a 2,5m 28mm steel curtain rail. Unfortunately the wall attachment and screws supplied with the brackets are not suitable for anything except a solid brick wall - the screws are not long enough to go through a stud wall and penetrate the solid block. The curtains I hung were not heavy, and yet the brackets ripped out from the wall within days of installing. I have had to buy the larger 30mm curtain rail holders (which are twice the price) but at least the brackets are study and screws long enough enough to support the curtains.

Quality feel and easy to install. If your wall is not perfectly straight you may find a small gap between the wall plate and the arm. Also is a little bit difficuly to use the pole locking bit. Overall does the job well
