Product information

Supima® cotton is a beautifully soft and highly absorbent type of US cotton. Strong and durable, Supima® cotton retains its softness and colour for longer, so it's the perfect choice for these heavyweight luxury towels.

This extra-long fibre cotton with a silk-like yarn has a softer, smoother feel with a rich lustre. It is up to 45% stronger, ensuring a towel that is durable and less prone to piling, while its lasting vivid colour comes from fine fibres and excellent absorbency of dyes.

Sumptuously soft, these towels are a pleasure to use throughout the year.

Grown in California's sun-drenched San Joaquin Valley and the American southwest, Supima® is short for superior US Pima cotton. Less than 1% of the world's cotton is eligible to carry the exclusive Supima name. This trademark is your guarantee that our towels are 100% American Pima cotton.

Q & As

John Lewis Supima Cotton Towels 3.9 5 46 46
A very good quality product This is the 6th set of Supima towels purchased - which indicates how good the product is considered to be. The towels dry the body well, respond beautifully to being hung outside and thoroughly blown. Using carefully-chosen washing products, the colour is maintained. 26 November 2013
Great Soft Feel Lovely quality, soft and great colour. Great value and service from John Lewis. 09 October 2013
Love them! I've just moved house and bought these towels, they are wonderful really thick and soft they have a great spongy feel and I don't think they will ever go crispy! According to the partner I spoke to Supima cotton is great and will last forever, the 2 ply nature of these towels will cause them to snag more easily but the snags dan be cut off easily. 27 April 2013
Wish I could give 10 stars!!! Luxurious towels, super absorbency, really soft and fluffy! What more could you want? 26 April 2013
Hugely disappointing I bought these towels just after Christmas to match our newly refurbished bathroom. Sadly pulled threads started to appear after only two weeks and by now (mid April) they look years old, some sections completely unravelled or threadbare despite only being used by myself and my husband and washed at the advised settings and only ever with other towels. Very upsetting considering how much they cost. I'm normally very pleased with my JL purchases but not on this occasion. 17 April 2013
Colour ran ... Two claret Supima hand towels, bought as a treat to myself. I always wash towels before first using them and was horrified to see how much the colour ran. So, I washed them a second time, again according to the label instructions, and put an old white dish towel in with them to see if the colour still ran. Alas, the same result, so back they went. Janis and her colleague in the Edinburgh store were extremely helpful and knowledgeable, explaining the lengths to which JL goes to to ensure colour fastness in their towels, but agreed the evidence of the now bright red dish cloth suggested all was not well this time. 10 out 10 to Janis and her colleague; shame about the towels. 23 March 2013
Poor quality I purchased these towels as I have a superb set from the previous John Lewis Pima cotton range. However, this updated range is an inferior version. Many, many pulled threads later, the towels are nearly bald and they lost their fluffiness after just a couple of washes. 25 February 2013
not as special as I thought. I thought I was buying a top quality soft towel. Be careful when removing the price tag as one snagged an puled threads on removal. After the first wash they are no more fluffy and in fact seem quite ordinary. 07 January 2013
