John Lewis Teardrop Floor Lamp
Collected from store from Click and Collect. In view of the reviews we opened the box in the car park! Low and behold the shade was coming apart in the box. Took it straight back and got a refund. I would not recommend this lamp as there is obviously a problem with the quality.

This would be a pleasing, elegant lamp but the shade
is darker - more buff coloured - than is shown on the
photo and it has a light cream edging, top and
bottom, which looks almost white and makes the shade look cheap.
We purchased 2 but have hidden one behind a
kentia palm. the other in a dark corner and
re-shuffled our existing lamps. Not what we were looking for really.
Our own fault. We should never buy on-line until
we have inspected in the goods in the shop!

Due to the design the lamp is top heavy and flimsy. This would be fine if you can locate the lamp in a position where it will not be touched or ever moved - unlikely in most homes! The light fitting soon broke and as it's not a standard size it has not been possible to source a replacement. Expensive & now useless - buy a different lamp.

Having looked twice at this item - in Cambridge and Peter Jones in London, I was very disappointed with the article. The attachment for the bulb had been fitted into the wood crooked which resulted in the lampshade being lopsided.
I have returned the lamp and will be looking in John Lewis for a different replacement lamp.

Elegant floor lamp
An elegant lamp that is perfect in our dining room. The first arrived damaged (not John Lewis' fault) and it was replaced the following day. I would give it 5 stars if it wasn't for the potential problem with the shade seam unsticking!

Very tasteful lamp
Had it delivered and the lamp was slightly damaged. We returned it and picked up another one, no problems! Very pleased with the service.

Fab Floor Lamp
Absolutely love this lamp - very stylish and gives a lovely warm glow. Only downside is the shade is coming apart and needs re-sticking again! Searching John Lewis website for replacement shade but not able to find one

Several Years Old And Still As New
I purchased one of these lamps a number of years ago when John Lewis first began to stock them.
The only notable issue was that the glue which is used to hold the seam on the lampshade came unstuck. Needless to say, a superior brand of glue suitably resolves this problem and returns the shade to its original condition.
However, I anticipate that one day i will be left with a redundant base as this type of shade appears to be in a class of one.
Over the years there has been no damage to the finish or any movement in the wooden base I am pleased to say.
