Do NOT buy! Incredibly poorly designed. I bought this as my first telescope and could barely get a good view of the moon. I thought I hadn't assembled it correctly or that I maybe wasn't using it correctly. I took it to a astronomical society and was told that it was useless because it has plastic lenses and it's poor design. Some of the lenses also weren't 100% circular. Also contains no instructions. 17 February 2013

Best Christmas Present We bought this telescope for our 10 year old daughter as a Christmas gift and it has been one of our most successful yet! We haven't seen too much yet but believe that's mostly down to the cloudy nights we've been experiencing. We did get a fantastic view of the surface of the moon early one morning, however! Fantastic. It's really fired our daughter's enthusiasm and we are delighted it's keeping her away from TV etc, which is the usual winter activity! We find the telescope incredibly easy to assemble and dismantle, our daughter does this herself, and it is kept nicely compact when stored away in it's hard case. Perfect!! Would reccommend this to any budding stargazer whatever the age!! 27 January 2012

Need to contact John Lewis This product is either faulty or is so badly made that it is impossible for an adult to focus let alone a 10 year old. Recommend not buying this. 25 January 2012

Telescope I bought one for my son to start him off but the adjustment lens would not work properly so took it back ordered another and same happened must have been a fault in design ,Received money back and went else where. John Lewis were very helpful but because I bought it on line they could not really help 18 January 2012

Could be great....?! This could be the most amazing telescope in the world but as it comes with no instruction booklet - just a one pager on assembly, we have no idea how to use it. As this is sold as a toy for 8 yrs and up it does not seem reasonable to assume people know how to use it.... tried 'pointing and looking' but there is clearly more to it than that! This was my sons birthday present and he is really disappointed that we haven't been able to see anything yet. 22 December 2011
