One of the shelves was broken and needed repairing, one of the spaces for wine allows a normal bottle to slip through to the floor (don't use it for your Petrus). The Allen key and the screws for assembly are made from something that resembles metal but isn't. They sheer when used. As I live on the Isle of Man, it was too much hassle/cost to return it.

Be warned, I bought this trolly 4 years ago. It started to fall to pieces after 2 years and I'm now having to replace it. If I was you, I wouldn't touch it and JL should stop selling it.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Booboo99 Not up to JL standard
This product took five hours to assemble due to poor tolerancing of fixing holes, holes needing re-drilling, holes the wrong depth and/or screws the wrong length. The bottom tray is visibly misaligned, but by less than the diameter of the fixing holes, meaning it can't be fixed. One wheel required a 4 mm. shim to get two of its four fixing holes at the right elevation.
JL offered to take the trolley back and replace with a new one - which we declined for obvious reasons, but accepted a very reasonable part-refund and kept the item. We told JL Customer Services that we thought this product was not up to their normal standard and was unsuitable for DIY assembly.

bought this trolley as thought it would be great in a smallish kitchen, didn't anticipate how difficult it would be to build it - got it done to realise that the shelves weren't the right way round (just means the bottle bit is the opposite end from where it should be) after the fight to get the wheels on no way we were talking them of to take it to bits and fix. Now that it's built it looks great and am sure all the trauma of building it will be worth it

Rated 3 out of 5 by Thirstywork Let down by packaging and detail
More than the expected element of DIY was required to make a success of this great looking trolley.
Though the exterior packaging was in good condition, it was evident on opening the kit of parts that some of the heaviest components had been allowed to move about in transit. Consequently the drawers and drawer runners needed repair (adhesive and clamping) before it could be assembled.
I am confident with woodworking, so felt that rather than return this item and 'start again', I'd probably be better off repairing it myself than getting another with the same or similar problems.
In addition, the slatted shelving had not been manufactured with any degree of accuracy (slats out of 'true', and badly stapled), though in fairness this is not visible now that the product is in use.
The pilot holes for the castors were poorly positioned, and had to be re-made. Again, an easy job for a competent DIY person, but unexpected at the price.
On the whole, it looks lovely and I'm glad we have it, but it took a long time to rescue it from the brink of being returned.

Maybe I didn't read the "fine print" but was dismayed to find this item needed assembling. Fortunately my technically minded son was available to put it together although he struggled!
Product itself is great- just what I needed for extra worktop and storage space in my small kitchen.

Nice product, easy to assemble and a lovely solid feel to the final assembled item.
Great storage space combined with a very useful work surface.
All round a good purchase.

This piece of furniture has enhanced our kitchen, enabling the preperation and serving of food so much less of an effort.Easily moveable on the smooth
rubber rollers, the foldaway top allows this trolley to be stored in a very small space.A must for any small kitchen.
