John Lewis Warwick Lantern, Nickel
Poor Quality Item
Saw this lantern and loved the look of it for my hallway. Read the other reviews and saw the negative feedback but decided to buy one and see for myself.
As others have said the quality of the glass is exceptionally poor, scratched, full of bubbles and very badly finished around the edges.
I had it installed anyway as my ceiling is quite high so the flaws are not too noticeable and because i loved the style of it so much.
I am very disappointed though that despite the same negative feedback time and again the supplier has done nothing to rectify the faults and i am surprised that john Lewis are continuing to sell such a poorly made item.
The four knobs that fit on the bottom to hold the glass in place are also noticeably marked and I am hoping that if i return them (without the rest of the lantern) they will exchange them for four others which hopefully will not be so marked. This remains to be seen.

Have used this in my hall and am very pleased. glass shade fits in after installation. You have to slot the shade in and turn so that thicker parts of the base sit on the metal frame..

As with many other reviewers I am most disappointed with the quality of the glass which really spoils what would otherwise be a very nice light. I bought two, one for the hall and the other for the vestibule. The glass in both lights is of extremely poor quality-badly scratched, flawed and the rims in particular are very roughly finished and this is even more apparent when lit. I can see that John Lewis did respond to a review in Dec 2012 advising that the supplier would be contacted to 'rectify any issues'. Although these things take time to implement I think that stock items should have been checked prior to being sold. These lights are not cheap and despite having reservations I had them fitted in the hope that they would look less flawed once fitted. Sadly they don't. I wish I had returned them.

Glass was quite thin and quality poor. I had to return because of bubbles and a crack in the glass.

John Lewis Warwick Lantern Nickel
This may look good but unfortunately has a bad design fault as the glass does not fit frame and could fall out anytime now having to pay for electrician to come back and take down.
YES i will be returning this light. Maybe you should check yours!

Looks like designer
A couple of these in our hallway look stunning. Love the chunky, utilitarian chain against the delicate, mottled glass.

Needed light fittings in a hurry and ordered these to go in a barn conversion. They look super and fit in with the decor as well as giving lots of soft light. I'm very pleased with them as have been everyone who has seen them.

Although the lanterns look loveley, the glass does not fit properly, and we live in constant fear that the glass will fall onto anyone passing below. Upon trying to fit, and upon close inspection, this seems to be a design fault as the metalwork appears to be the proper shape.
