Q & As

Johnson Brothers Blue Denmark Teapot, 1.3L 3.5 5 4 4
Quality control needed The problem with this teapot is that it seems to have been moulded from two halves stuck together. My teapot had such an uneven base that it rocked when stood on a table. It also had a slight kinks where the two halves had not quite matched. I changed it for another, whose base is about 98% stable. The give-away this time is in the spout, which has a slight kink, but if you feel it from the inside, the join is obvious. As a result it sometimes pours unevenly (as another reviewer noted). If you get one without faults it is a pleasant design. I advise purchasers to test its stability and its pouring, and to look out for noticeable kinks at any point where the two halves come together. If it fails your tests take it back. It ought to have been better checked by the manufacturer. 08 September 2014
The perfect match for my other china A lovely old pattern which is abstract enough to colour-match new china - it matches perfectly some cups and saucers I use as my best china, and the abstract pattern means there's no great design clash. I have an old Mason Ware Denmark coffee pot in this identical pattern. This design has obviously remained popular over a long period of time. This means I can feel confident I'll be able to buy matching china at any time in the future - such as a matching milk jug.Together, this pot and my blue cups and saucers make the perfect set at tea time. 21 March 2012
Poor pourer The teapot looks very nice but when you pour it either trickles the tea out or it gushes out and spills onto the saucer or table. 07 July 2011
Blue Denmark Teapot A lovely teapot, classic in design, easy pouring and a smart addition to an afternoon tea set in similar colours. 24 June 2011
