Joseph Joseph Clipit Magnetic Kitchen Timer, White
Purchased one of these timers earlier this year. Timer kept crashing when trying to set time and defaulted clock to zero.
Took timer in to exchange, only to find that the replacement showed exactly the same fault.
Will take this one in for a refund, as obviously the timer has a manufacturing fault.

Do not buy this timer
This is the first product in forty years I have returned to JL. Clip broke the first time I used it, very poor weak design not fit for purpose. Unable to hear alarm and when I demonstrated this to staff they could not hear it at all. Exchanged it for a significantly cheaper better designed product in every way. See my review of the alternative Heston B (salter) when I am invited. JL staff great as usual.

A poor product.
I bought this timer approximately 3 months ago. On the plus side I found this to have a clear screen to read the time and, despite other reviewers, I found the alarm feature good - it was loud! I also liked the fact there is a cord so the timer can be worn around the neck and yet still be heard even if one is upstairs and away from the kitchen.
On the down side after it had stopped working (after only 3 months) and despite buying a new battery, this device was clearly boken. Removing the battery is also quite fiddly. Perhaps this was a one-off poor product but I will replace it with another brand.
John Lewis staff were, as always, charming and there was no hesitation about a refund with my receipt.

I bought this before it was available in JL as I needed a timer I could carry around with me, and this was the only one available. It has a clear screen, but the buzzer is almost inaudible, unless you are under the age of 40 and have a quiet house. It also doesn't allow you to time things like Christmas cakes which have to be in for several hours. Not for people who cook regularly. I am still searching for the ideal one.

This item is high on style and low on utility: a good example of form before function.
The best of it is the bold and clear display, easily seen from across a kitchen.
The worst of it is the feeble alarm call, hardly audible in a busy kitchen. And then the controls, too smal and fiddlely for cook's fingers.
This product is not up to the normally high standards of the John lewis buyers.
