Kenwood Prospero Stand Mixer 4.4 5 14 14
A real help in the kitchen. I have had about half a dozen Food Processors since the first one which i bought more than 30 years ago. This is the very best so far.It does everything quietly and efficiently. It is also nice to look at and very easy to understand. 14 January 2013
Kenwood km283 prospero stand mixer Although the mixer looks goods ,I am very dissapointed when using flour it throw a lot of the mix out of the mixing bowl the guard has a gap at the back and not only messy the ratios are wrong ,also it didn't cope well when using the dough hook on normal amounts for a loaf of bread,I find the mixer not fit for the purpose I purchased it for 13 January 2013
Ken wood prospero Fantastic service, purchased with a price match reduced price, great service, prompt delivery. Very satisfied, great mixer for the money 27 December 2012
Jury still out I recently purchased the Prospero to replace separate food appliances for which I no longer have room for on my work surface. Pros. It's really useful to have the mixer, blender and food processor on one machine The machine is very compact, fits into a corner nicely and has a small footprint on the work surface. The machine is light enough to move around the work surface easily. The food processor is a bit small but on the whole the processor, blender and mixer all do a good job. All the parts of the machine fit smoothly and easily onto the main body. Cons The machine looks good but does seem rather flimsy and plasticky. I wonder how well it will wear. Only time will tell. The rubber feet on the bottom seem precarious and I wouldn't think will stand very much pulling across a work surface. The lid of the food processor has various nooks and crannies which it is very hard to get food out of. Finally my biggest con is that at the moment the types of food processor disc are limited. I have managed to buy an extra two ( an extra coarse shredder and a chipper) but both the slicer discs are quite thin and I really miss having a thicker slicer for potatoes, carrots etc. John Lewis if you can put in a plea to Kenwood please do. 22 December 2012
why didn't I buy this before I am thrilled with my Kenwood mixer. I had a Kenwood years ago but it was heavy, this model is light . Food preparation is done in no time, cooking for my 6 grandchildren is now a joy & they also enjoy using Granny's new toy, making smoothies, cakes & supper dishes. 27 November 2012
Didn't live up to expectations The idea of having a food mixer with a food processor and blender is really good, but I felt that this machine just ended up compromising on all of the functions. The mixer was fine for the most part, but niggles that I found: - - when mixing dry ingredients the speed of the mixing has to be carefully regulated to prevent half the mixture being 'chucked' out of the back of the splash guard. - the bowl has no handle and is therefore awkward to hold with one hand whilst scraping out cake mix - I found detaching the tools difficult when they are covered in mix - very messy. Surprised there wasn't a release mechanism and that you just have to tug on them. - one of the benefits might be that it is fairly light, but I found that this meant it was prone to tipping back when you lifted the arm and removed the bowl. - attaching the food processor bowl was difficult and it felt cheap. Part of the locking mechanism actually snapped off on the 3rd or 4th time I used the food processor attachment. Hence my ultimate decision to return the Prospero to JL, whose staff were excellent as ever. Overall just disappointed that this didn't turn out to be as good as the other reviewers found it, but maybe I expected too much considering how much the Prospero costs. I have yet to find any one single machine to replace it however.... 22 November 2012
A Versatile and Compact Kitchen Machine If you are looking to take your baking to the next stage or downsize your array of kitchen equipment, the Kenwood Prospero is a great option. It is much more compact than the traditional Chef mixers, yet the mixing action still adds plenty of air giving a great lift to sponges and meringues. I was very impressed that rather than making a small stand mixer, Kenwood have included both a food processor for chopping, slicing or grating, and a blender. This makes the Prospero ideal if you are looking for a single versatile machine, especially if you don't already have these appliances and your kitchen is a little short of space. Dedicated bakers might want to stick to the Chef or Kitchenaid mixers to get the optimum results, but this sturdy little workhorse is an all-round fully functional machine at a great price and a great size. 19 November 2012
Kenwood Simply the Best Another first class product from Kenwood, mixer come with 3 attachments. small enough to keep on the kitchen worktop. the only comment i have is when kneading bread dough the top part of the mixer jumps about quite a lot, but this has caused me no concern. overall this mixer is outanding, go on threat youself. As always John Lewis gave outstanding customer service, 11 November 2012
