Q & As

Kenwood KMC010 Chef Stand Mixer, Titanium 4.9 5 17 17
Don't hesitate to buy this wonderful machine! I bought the Chef Titanium after spending a lot of time researching the various makes and models both of Kenwood and the other well known brand. I also spent a while chatting to the very knowledgeable staff member in John Lewis. Like many people I was initially attracted by the styling of the KA product but after only a few weeks of use I can say with absolutely certainty that I made the right choice in going with the Kenwood Chef Titanium. For less money than the KA, this is by far the better machine in terms of what you get. In addition to the K-beater, whisk and dough hook, you get a creaming attachment which is great for making cakes plus a food processor with 6 or more cutting blades and a blender. I have made bread, pizza dough, soups, cakes and yesterday the best ciabatta ever (according to my husband). Although it is a much more powerful machine in terms of kw - 1400 against I think 300 for the KA, the main reason for this is to power the blender and food processor. The mixer itself doesn't need as much power. This is a well-built machine, sturdy and powerful. If you are serious about cooking, then go for the Kenwood. If you are considering the KA because you like its styling, go and look at both before you decide. The Kenwood is a good looking machine and looks great in my kitchen and in fact having seen both machines, I actually much prefer the styling of the Kenwood. I'd say that having the Chef has re-ignited my love of cooking and I have been revisiting recipes which mean I can use it. I already had a food processor with blender but I'm now selling that as it's much more convenient to have everything at my fingertips in one machine. 17 January 2015
Excellent product I love my new kenwood mixer - it is great, does the job brilliantly and very straightforward to use. Highly recommend. 09 December 2014
Versatile and much quieter than my older model A fantastic leaving present from work, I have only had this since the weekend, so cannot comment on its durability, but the build quality is excellent, and the range of attachments impressive. There is a new flexible beater, for sponges and butter cream, the process was a bit counter intuitive - eggs in last, but all the mixture was incorporated and the results were very good. A bonus is that it is possible to have a conversation while it is running, this had been difficult to gauge before purchase as I viewed it in JL Cambridge on Black Friday. with rather a lot of passers-by creating background noise. Sadly, I had to purchase it on-line, as the stores cannot process gift cards on the phone for orders 08 December 2014
I can't believe I waited 35 years for this! Ever since getting married in 1979 I have desired a Kenwood from afar and have always bought something cheaper but this year I decided to treat myself. It is the most fantasic piece of equipment that I have ever owned. i cannot praise it enough. 18 November 2014
brilliant have always wanted a CHEF parents have one and its still going strong after 40years everything is so easy pour in the ingredients switch on turn your back and you can trust your chef to blend/whisk can handle large amounts of dough effortlessly the food processor and liquidizer very well made though food processor is smaller than previous one and much heavier it feels very sturdy now can trust my CHEF with all the new recipes am trying can really recommend a CHEF 05 November 2014
Fantastic design, works really well I spent well over 12 months researching Food Processors and food mixers. I wasn't too sure about what my needs were (I thought they might change if I got a machine that did new things) or whether it was a mixer or processor that I wanted. I knew that I didn't want a cheap one that would soon burn out or that was too "plastic-y". I was delighted to find this high quality food mixer with food processor and blender attachments (other attachments can be bought too). I researched it a little further and took notice of the reviews on here. My lovely Husband ordered it without me knowing. I had a wonderful surprise a couple of weeks ago when it was delivered. It is excellent. Its a high quality, solid machine. Ideally you need to have space to leave it on the work surface due to the weight of it but that's not a problem as its very attractive and shiny. You will need cupboard space for the attachments. The design is very clever and the spatula leaves the mixing bowl clean. I have kneaded dough, whipped up Yorkshire puddings, chopped vegetables, blended soup and made cakes. Its not cheap but having seen it and used it I feel that it will be with me for a very long time so I already feel that the cost is justified. I cannot recommend highly enough if this is the price bracket that you are considering. If anything changes I will post again. 03 October 2014
Kenwood Titanium Absolutely brilliant machine just works so well at whatever I give it to do. The new flex beater has almost made the K beater redundant as it keeps the bowl so clean and mixes really well, the food processor (which I was doubtful about) is very solid and efficient....very solidly built. This is my third chef....the others gone to relatives who are devoted to machine is now almost 30 years old. Good old Kenneth Grange the designer and Ken Wood the inventor for getting it so right at the beginning. This Titanium really is the complete machine with little need for any other equipment....the liquidiser is a bit heavy but very solid and efficient. The motor is smooth and quiet. Why would one consider one of those less powerful, multicoloured machines with no processor or liquidiser....mind you I wish mine was white instead of this gloomy Kenwood grey but that seems a small price to pay for a real genius of a machine.! 31 July 2014
Fantastic Mixer This is a good quality mixer with four mixing tools, plus a food processor and liquidiser. I haven't stopped using it since I bought it a month ago and am wondering how I ever managed without it! It is very simple to operate and change the attachments. You will need to have space on your worktop to leave it out as it is rather heavy. 10 June 2014
