Kenwood kMix Stand Mixer, Red

Special offer

Product information

The Kenwood kMix food mixer is a refreshingly contemporary twist on the classic Kenwood stand mixer.

A generous 5 litre stainless steel bowl can easily handle 12 egg whites, while the wire aluminium balloon whisk quickly forms it into stiff peaks. A non-stick coated hook will knead up to 1.3kg of dough, while a 2.72kg cake mixture is - literally - a piece of cake, with the K-Beater.

The powerful 500 watt motor has 8 speeds, including a special slower setting which enables you to fold ingredients into your mixture, for perfect results every time. The splashguard is formed of one piece with a hinged feed tube, enabling the easy addition of extra ingredients to the bowl. Finally, the head lift safety interlock prevents accidental operation, by stopping the mixer attachment when you lift it out of the bowl.

And with a versatile range of attachments available to purchase too, this kMix food mixer offers endless culinary opportunities! Among those available are a pasta maker, meat grinder, various pasta rollers and cutters, and even a juicer.

Q & As

Rated 4.5 out of 5 by 48 reviewers.
Rated 3 out of 5 by Solid and well built but not good for small quantity dough mixes I purchased this late 2014, mainly to help out with kneeding dough mixes. I rarely use more than 500g of flour and sometimes 250g and the dough hook just doesn't mix the mixture, it seems the dough hook is positioned too high from the bottom of the bowel (and it's not adjustable unlike the other attachments). I'm sure it will last years but not really suitable for what I had purchased it for, 25 April 2015
Rated 2 out of 5 by Regrettable Purchase I bought this five years ago but have never got on with it. It pushes the mixture to the sides of the bowl and I have to get a spatula to mix properly. Wish I had not bought and would like to sell it. Maybe I've been doing something wrong. 19 April 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by K-mix Almond For me this machine is very lovely and less noisy/sturdy for kictchen area. I wasn't sure whether to get kmix or kitchen aid but I tell you its worth it. Mixes well and have baked almost 20 professional cakes (10inches) since Jan 2015 and March 2015. Thanks to the 5year guarantee that comes with it too. Its quite expensive but worth it if you are going to be baking most time. Its beautiful for good kitchen unit. Read other peoples view/review/check advert on youtube or possibly Kenwood website and if possible go to shops to see it in display before purchase, this really helped me. 03 March 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Brilliant I had some vouchers as a gift. I was looking at the Prospero. I am so glad I paid the extra for the KMix. Worth every penny. The machine feels solid, looks great on the worktop and according to reviews works better than clunky Kitchenaids. I plan to buy the food cutter attachment for grating and slicing, and maybe a glass bowl as an extra, although sadly John Lewis don't seem to stock KMix attachments. However, their price for the mixer was the best I could find. Well done Kenwood and JL. 20 February 2015

Rated 5 out of 5 by Great product-wouldn't be without it Easy to use, stylish look, great value. Not come across one negative yet and using it very regularly. 03 February 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great mixer, but has a small fault! I love my Kmix mixer and have used it several times so far. It does the job perfectly well. However, when I want to switch it on, sometimes I have to do it several times to start the machine. At first I thought that perhaps I hadn't put the head down properly and it didn't quite click in place. But now I have realised that it has nothing to do with the head and for some reason I need to turn it off and on until it starts. But when it does start, it does a brilliant job. I absolutely love mine and I have made some lovely cakes with it. 02 February 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Brilliantly versatile machine I wanted a Kenwood Chef, my wife wanted a KitchenAid: we settled for the kMix. I had grand ideas about attaching ice cream making bowls, meat grinders and food processors to my mixer, but the voice of reason (my wife again) pointed out that I was unlikely to use any of these things. The KitchenAid's timeless looks and sturdy build quality were tempting but after having a play with my mum's one its poorly fitting splash guard, the 'jerk' when changing speeds and its tendency to walk across work surfaces with heavy doughs put me off. And for over £100 less the kMix was an easy choice. So far I've made three cakes, a couple of batches of bread rolls and some pastry and the kMix hasn't batted an eyelid #nor gone for a stroll like the KitchenAid did#. The fold function is excellent and not a grain of flour has escaped from its splash guard. A brilliant, brilliant machine. 01 February 2015
