Q & As

Kenwood Prospero Stand Mixer 4 5 26 26
Cooks do Prosper Bought for my wife to replace ancient chefette. Found it to be versatile, a good weight, relatively compact. Good range of accessories. Recommend to those who don't have space or money for a full size Kenwood chef. 09 September 2014
Entry level This is a well priced entry level mixer, blender and food processor but don't expect it to be flawless. For example when grating carrot you will end up with an end piece that fits between the lid and the cutting disc so not all of the carrot will get grated. Similarly the mixer has not been great, a cake did not rise up enough which I believe was because not enough air made it into the mixture when whisked and the mashed potatoes had lumps when using the K beater for a good few minutes. It does everything you want but none of it perfectly. The shortcomings are liveable with and the price difference to jump up to the Chef range is pretty large so its a cost question really. How much will you use it and so how much are you prepared to pay? 26 August 2014
Its generally value for the money! 1. happy with the style 2. not happy with the plastic but I have no complain because the price. 23 July 2014
Kenwood Prospero Stand Mixer I have previously owned a Kenwood Chef but the Prospero is so much better. Love the food processor part have never made so much coleslaw - very tasty. The new style top cover is such a brilliant idea and allows you to add the other ingredients to the mixture without clouds of flour escaping around the kitchen. 15 July 2014
Fabulous kitchen helper! This mixer does it all!. It is well made and thought out. I am really pleased with this purchase and am enjoying using it. 02 June 2014
Value for money mixer OK, this is a budget Kenwood Chef and the plasticky look and feel may make you feel that it is cheap and nasty as has been said by other reviewers. This is NOT a cheap and nasty product. I have been using this for 18 months and I have no quibbles. It should be viewed as an entry level piece of equipment which performs all the basic mixing jobs just fine. As for the reviewers who are complaining about the flour being thrown out of the bowl .... have you tried starting the speed on minimum and then GRADUALLY turning it up. This seems to work for me and the flour behaves in a "non jump out of the bowl" way. When you pull away from the traffic lights on your way to drop your kids off at school, you don't treat it as a Grand Prix race do you? I am very happy with the product, it gets used every week to knead my bread dough. It also gets used for cake-mix and batters. The liquidiser also does what it is supposed to do. Used with a little lateral thinking it does all that it claims. 10 May 2014
Cheap & Nasty would not recommend this to anyone it is nothing like the quality of a kenwood chef after sales service from Kenwood poor flour, icing sugar etc all fly all over the place 04 March 2014
Just the ticket! I've owned a Chef for over 30 years and it never missed a beat so now with only 2 of us, I decided to go for this smaller model but it really lives up to its predecessor. John Lewis online system worked - it arrived well within time promised 04 February 2014
