Q & As

Stylish kettle A really solid kettle that sits well on its stand. Quite heavy when full but it does hold more water than the average kettle. I like the fact that water can be heated to a preferred temperature rather than just boiling. 12 August 2014
KITCHEN AID 1.7L Kettle Stylish and well built - as you would expect from KitchenAid. The only thing is that it does beep quite a lot - but we have got used to it! 29 July 2014
My amazing kettle Never knew a kettle could meet with such interest - everybody that comes loves it! It certainly works well as a kettle. 08 July 2014
Really good kettle As a drinker of different types of tea, this kettle enables me to get the water temperature perfect for each type of tea. As other reviewers have pointed out it is not a quiet kettle and it beeps at start and end of boiling and when you replace the kettle on its stand, I suspect, as a safety feature. The stylish design of the kettle gives it a sturdy appearance and the location of the handle makes it well balanced to lift even when full. 23 June 2014
great product- Kitchen Aid Kettle Again John Lewis comes up trumps with high quality and stylish products. Sales person excellent, knowledgeable and helpful. 27 May 2014
Attractive kettle but badly engineered and manufactured I had two units before changing to a different model. The first was so noisy tI considered that there was part loose in the housing. The second had a defective thermostat. When there was any warm water left in the kettle, it would not switch on - I had to empty, fill with cold water for it to switch on. 27 May 2014
Quality Kettle This is a kettle that exudes quality as you would expect from KitchenAid. It is reasonably quiet and an excellent pourer. If you appreciate control over temperature for your hot drinks, this is a kettle that you should consider. Some people might find the beeps slightly excessive but they didn't put me off buying this kettle and that was the right decision for me. 16 May 2014
Beep beep beep... This is a nice kettle but has two annoying features (in reverse order): 1. When boiling water there is pause for a variable amount of time whilst the heating element stops. This may be to allow the kettle to take further temperature measurements and not overheat the water (if e.g. 90C is selected). It does however mean that it is slower than other kettles in boiling the same volume of water. 2. What is best described as beep overload…: (a) whenever the kettle is taken off/ placed on the stand (e.g. to fill or empty the kettle) there is a loud beep; (b) when any button is pressed there is a loud beep (noting it takes two presses of the same power button to switch the kettle on); (c) when the kettle has 'boiled' (or reached the set temperature) there are three loud beeps. Noting the above there are a minimum of 7 beeps ( 1x fill/replace, 2x switch on, 3x boil, 1x use/replace) in the usual 'cup of tea' process. Whilst at first we didn't think this would be annoying, it seems that after 5 days the beeping has become really irritating. It's not necessarily the total number of beeps; more the number and length of time over which they are spaced. Note: KitchenAid customer service have no way of disabling the feature. 25 April 2014
