KitchenAid Artisan Burr Coffee Grinder
A great grinder
I must admit to buying this grinder based purely on its looks. Having used it daily now for just over 6 years i can testify that it is a great grinder. One person has commented about the grind not being fine enough, I also had this problem but when I cleaned the burrs and reset as per the instructions the issue was resolved. I have seen other grinders in action over the years and honestly believe that they are no where near as good as the KA. Yes it is expensive, however it will last a lifetime.

It was a replacement for a disappointing Dualit burr grinder which started well but the motor burned out.
I have used my KitchenAid grinder almost daily for a year now and am delighted with it. It is simple to use, no superfluous gadgets. It is aesthetically pleasing for a kitchen appliance and feels robust.
I don't use it for expresso so can't comment on its suitability, but for a cafetiere it is perfect.

Beautiful but not for prupose
When I first saw this grinder I was attracted by this beautiful piece of machnery. It feel so nice and build to last. My wife was equally attracted to the KitchenAid because of the colour and the design.
After using it for a while I found the coffee in its finest setting still to be too coarse. And following the manual I opened up the grinder to try and make it finer ... still too coarse.
I took some of the ground coffee to an espresso specialist and compared it to ground coffee from established Italian brands like Gaggia, Quickmill and Rancilio. I am afraid the KitchenAid came up well short even though their messaging suggests the machine is suitable for espresso.
If you use this for espresso I would look for another and if not, than forget what I said. It is a nice grinder.

Fabulous engineering - as always with KitchenAid
Superb quality - feels like you really are using a piece of machinery - that is going to last for years. Simple - no fuss - and no unnecessary extra options.
Absolutely love the idea of weekends with nothing less than quality items.
