I own 4 of the Kitchen aid range, blender, food processor, stand mixer and coffee machine. This is by far the worst KA I've owned, the others have worked well without issue since purchase. I've had 2 warranty repairs and now the coffee boiler gauge refuses to go past 1/4 ready. While it still seems to made adequate coffee, I expect more from such an expensive machine. The coffee when working is not great, really struggled to get the crema on the top, with various methods tried and brands of coffee. We won't be purchasing another when this one does break completely. Just hoping to get more than the current 3 years out of it !

Rated 3 out of 5 by Adam1973 Excellent Espresso, Poor milk frother
I was really keen on this product due to it's looks. It certainly gives a good espresso. Being a dual boiler machine you can make espresso shots at the same time as steaming the milk. The issue for me is the boiler on the milk frother. It does not produce enough steam pressure to produce a mico foam on the milk, consequently the milk does not expand as it should. This sounds trivial but it really does affect the taste. Having reported this, my machine was exchanged twice with no hassle but all 3 machines suffered the same issue. In the end I changed to a De'Longhi ESAM3000.B and have been delighted with the result. The service from John Lewis was excellent throughout.

I'M REALLY PLEASED WITH MY PURCHASE OF THE KITCHENAID ARTISAN COFFEE MACHINE. FANTASTIC ESPRESSO - ONCE YOU GET THE HANG OF HOW MUCH PRESSURE IS NEEDED TO TAMP DOWN THE COFFEE. I'M NOW FULLY AWAKE EACH MORNING THANKS TO A LOVELY CUP OF COFFEE MADE WITH MINIMUM FUSS AND EFFORT.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Colliecrew Lovely retro machine
After months and months of looking at every coffee machines known to man we had plumped for the Fracino Cherub....but then we saw the Artisan being demonstrated in a John Lewis store. We had always loved the retro look and feel of the Artisan, but were slightly concerned about it's functionality. However, heart ruled head and we bought the Kitchenaid.
It's taken a few weeks to get used to the machine and get coffee as we like it, but we're there now. Unlike our old De'Longhi you must let the boiler heat up for at least 5 minutes, which can be a slight pain in the early morning.
We also took out the John Lewis extended warranty, as some people don't appear to have had much luck with the Artisan's reliability.
If you want a stunning looking machine, which makes great coffee(after trial and error) I can recommmend the Kitchenaid Artisan

bought this coffee machine for my husband ,who loves coffee and now the machine ! .very easy to use and clean only takes a few mins to heat up ,the steam nozzle is great and once you get the hang of it ,,hot, milk ,frothy milk all done to perfection ,Its a solid looking and feeling piece of machinery,I would say once you find a place for it in the kitchen it will stay there its a bit heavy to be moved around .I love the curvy shape of it and the sturdiness of it .expensive yes ..but if you like coffee made properly and at the right temp i think you will like this

Rated 4 out of 5 by Higgilc An excellent cup of coffee
Yes we did have problems with the machine but John Lewis handled this very well. On our third machine we realised that they had been built with the pipes from the water tank too short (not reaching down that far and no where near to the bottom of the minimum water level line) and they were effectively blowing up.
Having said that the machine makes wonderful coffee and there is plenty of steam. I find the twin boilers very useful as it is quick and easy to make the drinks when you are entertaining.
This purchase was a replacement for my original KitchenAid machine which had lasted nearly four years - on reviewing the market it was simple, there was no other choice but to get the same again.
