KitchenAid Artisan Kettle
I purchased this in the hope that the design and temperature control would result in a kettle that does not fill the kitchen with steam when it finally switches off once boiled. Despite two thermostats, this kettle results in condensation running down the cupboards before the thermostats cut in. I now either watch it boil and switch it off as it boils or set it for 95degrees.
The shape results in a poor balance point and it is quite heavy and awkward to fill and handle when pouring, possibly dangerous for someone with poor grip.
The three year guarantee was definitely a plus but at the price, I should hope it would last that long.
I am coming to the conclusion that buying on line before checking it out in store is a mistake although in this case it would not have helped the poor thermostat cut out at 100degrees.
It's fine but no improvement on my much cheaper kettle which it replaced and I would not recommend it

Beautiful design - poor quality.
I purchased the KitchenAid Artisan Kettle not long after it was sold by John Lewis around August 2013. I purchased the kettle as the design looked incredible and enhanced our newly installed kitchen. Having now owned it for 9 months, I am now on the third KitchenAid kettle.
The element on the original kettle lasted approximately 5 months and John Lewis replaced the item without any issues. The next KitchenAid kettle lasted 3 months and was returned as the paintwork had been significantly chipped on the base unit where the kettle had been removed and refitted for boiling. Once again, the standard of service from John Lewis was exceptional and, once highlighted that this was the second kettle, they replaced the item.
If you are in any doubt about the quality of this kettle, then read the reviews on this item and see the increasing number of comments that highlight poor quality. Furthermore, I recently looked at the display model in my local John Lewis and noticed that the item displayed the chipped paintwork that was identical to the second kettle that I returned.
Without question, it is beautiful design, but if my third KitchenAid kettle requires returning then I will look elsewhere for an appliance that will boil water without the hassle of continual returns; at a significantly cheaper price. If you must buy it, then only purchase it from John Lewis and make sure that you keep the receipt; you will need it when you go through the returns process!

Poor product but great service
I purchased my Kitchenaid kettle last October and now in March I am on my third! The first one blew up three weeks after purchase so JL replaced no problem. The second one started to play up in January ie would not reach required temperature and wouldn't switch on if it was still a little warm. JL could not replace immediately because it was over a month old but they asked me to send it back to be repaired and in the meantime credited me with £20 in order to purchase a cheap kettle to be getting on with. After a while JL got notification from Kitchenaid to replace the product - which they did but all this took at least 4 weeks. If I had my time over again I would not purchase this product but the service from John Lewis was excellent.

Awesome - A MUST Have
We needed a new kettle and thought we would treat ourselves to a Kitchen Aid to match our mixer.
Though a little pricey I am a firm believer in you pay for what you get- buy cheap - buy twice.
What a product. The boil is almost silent, it has a fill gauge, a temperature gauge and a funky lighting display as the temperature creeps up on boil.
The kettle outer does not get too hot so great for when you accidently knock into a boiled kettle. Study, well made, great design. Well worth the price.

Really good product
Stylish and practical kettle, not too heavy and bonus of three year guarantee, on the expensive side but worth it for quality.

I bought this kettle for my wife as she is a fan of Kitchenaid products, and we needed a new kettle, and hopefully one that would serve us well for a long time.
This kettle looks great, with a nice retro feel to it.
It's well made and to date is reliable.
A useful feature is the ability to be able to set a temperature to heat the water to.
But one of the most important things is that it pours beautifully. No drips or dribbles that can be so irritating.
Great kette, recommended.
