Krups EA8005 Espresseria Bean-to-Cup Coffee Machine, Black
My new best friend!!
After a rather long settling in period I am starting to love this machine!
There is a lot of "faffing" about involved to get the best out of a "bean to cup" machine. The red light to empty the "dregs" comes on frequently, & the steamer attachment needs a regular clean & poke with the supplied pin to get the right cappuccino froth. Once you get the hang of it & get the right coffee bean supplier & the right beans for your taste (mine is "Barcelona Espresso") you begin to wonder how you managed without this machine!! Ditch the "pods" machines & buy one of these, put the work in & you won't regret it!!

Love this coffee machine
I purchased this coffee machine after my De Longhi stopped working for the third time. I've had various Bean to coffee machines over the years, and this is my favourite. It's not as bulky as others, and it's quieter than the others I've had, and the coffee tastes wonderful. It really is a clever little machine.
The only downside is that the filter that the instructions recommend is not included, and not cheap either, and neither are the cleaning tablets and powder that will need to be used, although they are included with the machine.

I bought in my local store and because I live only several minutes away and use a powered wheelchair the sales folk where good enough to take it over to my flat, service or what
my carer set it up next day, easy as anything
just follow the instructions in the supplied manual, didn't take long and was very easy
the only thing that was annoying and the reason it gets 4 stars and not 5 is it doesn't come with the water purification cartridge which I'm in a very hard water area I've now ordered online and am making do with using my Brita kettle with its water filter cartridge
it seems easy to clean and all the various things like the coffee grinds disposer are easy to remove as is the drip tray, coffee grinds very easy
I'd say presume nothing, empting the coffee grids dispenser and cleaning the slide out grinding slot wasn't enough to clear the red light I had to actually clean the grinds collection bin under the tap and dry it to clear the red light, the machine is really smart and it went up in my estimation
the coffee is warm enough for me as long as you drink it within a few minutes
the coffee is great

Cream of the crop Krups
This machine was a second choice after the De Longhi model I originally picked gave in after two days and was declared irrepairable by their call centre. That model was subsequently delisted by JL so I had to opt for this one instead. Good call! It is so simple to use, makes impeccable and very hot coffee and just does what it says on the box. Plus it takes up very little worktop space. If you are looking for a straightforward, no nonsense appliance - this is for you.

Affordable & Attractive
Great machine and serves its purpose and you cannot go wrong with JL 2 year peace of mind.
Great service from JL although the machine was perhaps tested before delivery as the waste bin showed it had been used.
However, it looses 3 stars for the following reasons :-
1. Does not offer hot water for tea.
2. Nothing is mentioned in the instruction book of the cup warmer, contrary to JL website.
3. If you need just a small shot of espresso, you have to fill the water to minimum, its waste of water.
4. Having set the temperature to the highest, I found the coffee was not hot enough to my liking.
If the above don't bother you, buy it. Its a smashing addition to any kitchen.

Kruptastic coffee maker
Bought today with click and collect (excellent service from John Lewis by the way), unboxed it and enjoying a delicious cup of coffee within minutes. It really is that easy to get started. All settings are at factory default and can be left there, but you might need to change some after or before use. Changes are carried out before pressing the power button on the appliance (and likewise with the power button on the appliance off also if the changes are done at a later date.)
Switch on the power button on the appliance and dial in the quantity of coffee needed (a mug holds typically 200-220 ml), place the cup(s) in position and press the coffee strength button (normal or strong) and wait for the coffee. If you are making 2 cups at once you can press the button twice rapidly and this makes double the quantity in 2 batches automatically. 2 full size mugs fit easily in the machine side by side.
Obviously haven’t made anything other than regular coffee yet but it has surpassed my expectations. This is my first coffee maker (bean to cup) and I just don’t know why I never got one earlier. It has a small footprint on the work surface and it makes coffee from bean to cup very fast. I was amazed. Perhaps I need to get out more.
The water reservoir is at the rear and you need some overhead clearance to lift it clear (or like me use a jug to carefully to fill it.) It’s a large water reservoir and will make 4 mugs of coffee (8 after dinner cups) without issue.
Specialist cleaning needed approx every 300 cups but the materials for the first clean are included. For the price I don’t think this can be beaten for a bean to cup model and I looked at endless models and reviews before deciding on this. With the 2 year guarantee from John Lewis looking forward to some great coffee and cake afternoons.
Added bonus – the house smells absolutely wonderful – it’s out of this world.
