Laurence King Publishing A Very British Revolution: 150 Years of John Lewis Book by Jonathan Glancey

Product information

The book tells the story of the remarkable vision of John Spedan Lewis who transformed a clutch of Victorian department stores into a revolutionary, employee-owned business. It highlights our radical organisation, our approach to retailing, and the unique way that we treat both our Partners and customers.
The author has had access to our own substantial archive of photography and ephemera, and shows how the history of our business mirrors that of Britain as a whole. It traces the emerging consumerism of the Victorian world, through the social upheavals of the twentieth century into the globalised world of retailing today.
John Lewis will donate 25% from the selling price from the sales of this book to Banardo's children's charity.
