Brand Story

The company that was destined to become LEGO started life as being a small workshop that produced wooden toys, run by Ole Kirk Christiansen in 1932. The name ‘LEGO’ was adopted in 1934, coming from the Danish phrase ‘leg godt’, which means ‘play well’. It wasn’t until 1947 that they started producing plastic toys, with the first version of the now infamous interlocking bricks coming in 1949.
They weren’t quite the bricks that people are used to nowadays, being made from a different material and having a slightly different locking system. It was actually Christiansen’s son Godtfred Kirk that saw the potential for the bricks to become a tool for creative play and in 1958, the modern brick design was born. From this date, despite variation in the design and purpose of individual pieces over the years, each remains compatible in some way with previous pieces. So you could have a LEGO set from 1958 and it would still be completely compatible with a modern set.
Since the 1960, thousands of sets have been released covering everything from Aliens to the Wild West. The only area that the company has never tackled directly is military-themed sets, because Ole Kirk set a policy that they must never make war seem like child’s play. The largest ever LEGO set to date is a scale-model of the Taj Mahal, which was made out of 5922 pieces.
The LEGO Group's motto is ‘det bedste er ikke for godt’, which roughly translates to "only the best is the best". Ole Kirk Christiansen came up with this phrase to encourage workers to always produce the highest quality toys possible.
Nowadays, LEGO makes a vast range of toys for all ages, as well as teaching materials for children, which are distributed in over 130 countries. The company has approximately 10,000 employees and is the world's third largest manufacturer of play materials.

Q & As

Rated 3.9 out of 5 by 21 reviewers.
Rated 3 out of 5 by Just the figures, please I got this set for the New Order storm troopers and the relatively rare minifig of color. The two troopers have the same face print as the clone troopers in other sets. When the mini blasters/stud shooters first came out, I was excited to get a few--now I have so many I don't know what to do with them. I didn't find anything particularly enjoyable about building the cannon, nor special about any of the parts. I would prefer to have another mini figure than the cannon. 05 May 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by LEGO First Order Battle Pack This is a very good set for little children who are just getting in to Star Wars and want to create a small army. This set like most other battle packs is great for minifigure collectors like myself. It is good to get a few extra Stormtroopers. Lets get straight into it... Starting with the minifigures, as I've already mentioned, I think it is great to get some stormtroopers in a inexpensive set like this one. I would although have proffered to have gotten two normal stormtroopers, one with a tacticle vest and a First Order Technician over the ones we have got. This would make it easier to create a bigger First Order army quicker. Nevertheless lets get to the minifigs he DO have: the ordinary Stormtrooper is well done and I appreciate it a lot, the First Order Stormtroopers are by far my new favourites. I reallly like the stormtrooper with the tacticle vest. It adds a bit of variety to an army. The Crew member is great and I like getting dark flesh coloured minifigures for a change. Last and rightfully least is the Technician who is very ordinary and I'm not such a big fan of his/her new helmet. To the turret itself... Its is small and includes some cool parts. It is small, maybe a bit too small but still playable which is important. The cannon is very small but as it is supposed to do in battle packs it is able to shoot which adds to the play factor... All in all i like the set a lot I do think they could have made it a bit cheaper though. I would recommend it to everyone who wants to build an army and also to little children who like Star Wars and/or a re getting in to it. 09 March 2016

Rated 4 out of 5 by Great army builder This set is great for any army builder. Pros -Turbolaser is a great design. It looks pretty much the same as seen in the movie -Minifigure printing on the stormtroopers is excellent and very detailed. -I also like the different faces the minifigures have. Cons -The turbolaser cannon doesn't move all the way up, you can't point it to the sky. -The studshooters have no value to older builders. I have also talked with little children who said they preferred the old realistic blasters. Please bring the old blaster back, even to the small sets. -I wish i could have got more regular stormtroopers. Maybe replace one of the two other minifigures with a stormtrooper so i wouldn't have to buy so many of these. Overall, this set is again a great product from lego. I wouldn't really complain much about anything. But seriously. Get rid of the studshooters lego. 28 February 2016
Rated 3 out of 5 by Good but could be better pros: -very nice looking minifigs -reasonably cheap cons: -would be better if it had 4 stormtroopers -turbolaser is small -stud shooters Overall it is a nice set but the stud shooters look nothing like real star wars weapons and it would be much better if it included the regular weapons. Resistance battle pack is better value and has a better minifig selection 21 February 2016
Rated 3 out of 5 by A good addition A great little addition to a growing collection. Was challenging for my 5 year old but a great way to start his education into Lego. So good in fact he has now built 4 of these. 16 February 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by Watch out for the turbo lasers!!! A nice little set from the TFA movie with a nice selection of mini figures. I have to say it was a very easy build and I didn't really feel challenged but, hey, it's a battle pack not a starship. One thing I have to make an observation on though, the stormtroopers in this set have two different torso prints. I purchased the First Order Transport recently and both the stormtroopers in this set have the same torso print, perhaps LEGO might like to vary the prints to represent differences between stormtrooper kit and equipment. Apart from that I like the set. 10 February 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent! Some people have given this set a bad review, but overall I think it is a great set. Some are saying that the turbolaser is way smaller, but it is actually around life-size. Any one who has played Star Wars Battlefront might agree. The minifigures are really cool too. The stormtroopers are probably the best. Their torsos and helmets a very detailed and they make great additions to any collection. The First Order technician is cool, although his helmet does fall off pretty easily. I think the only downside about the set is the shooting blasters, because it is very easy and annoying to lose the little studs. Nonetheless, the stud-shooters are very, very fun. I myself stopped collecting Legos a long time ago, but this set is pretty awesome and I would totally recommend it for any fan of the Force Awakens or any of the original Star Wars trilogy movies. 08 February 2016
