Leifheit Pegasus Tower 200 Clothes Airer
Two faulty airers
I REALLY liked this airer - robust and perfect for the job. BUT the nut that keeps the top part of the airer together (under quite a lot of tension) was faulty on the 2 airers I tried so I took each back and have now got another one. You might get lucky, in which case it is fantastic (much better than the one I ended up with) but you might not, so you might need to be patient.

Well thought out item
This airer was far superior to anything else in the shop (Cribbs Causeway) on the day we purchased it. We also have a Minky wing airer which is truly excellent but that one no longer seems to be available at JL. So we bought the Leifheit and were impressed with the muslin across the top for airing, the coat hangers for shirts. It all seemed so well thought out. The only reason not to give a 5th star is because a third of the rack is quite low down and it is hard to drape clothes over without them touching the floor, what happens is you need to drape over two or three bars to avoid this. Apart from that it is excellent.

A proper solution
Ordered on Friday, collected on Saturday from our local Waitrose store, superb service JL - as always. Well packed and easy to set up.
Looks very sturdy and well designed - already in use and performing well.
Not cheap, but then nothing good ever is.
Lots of really useful features and well thought through design - feels as if it will last.

Never did I think I'd get quite so excited about a clothes airer but this one is absolutely perfect. I'd read all the reviews on the JL website before opting for this model and I'm glad I did. Its sturdy & compact, the little extras such as the coathangers & sockholders are brilliant, not sure I need the peg bag but time will tell... As others have said its maybe a little tall but since it folds flat and goes in the cupboard I'm not going to grumble about that. And unlike some previous reviews the mesh for drying items flat fits perfectly so I am over the moon (as you can probably tell).
A great buy and great service from John Lewis as always :)

Great robust airer that gives loads of drying space packed into a compact floor area. The option to dry articles flat and the additional hangers are a bonus. Well worth the money.

Very pleased with this
This airer is compact, easily assembled and disassembled . I like the hangers with it. Have used it several times with the recent wet weather.

Airers seem to have a shelf live of about 3 years. I just got this one and it seems quite solid. My previous ones were the wing variety, which did take a lot more room. This one is tall and compact, but as a result the clothes are hung quite close together, what makes them take longer to dry.

A great purchase. 4.9 stars.
As airers go it's quite expensive but............you get what you pay for.
Excellent design & construction, low centre of gravity (no falling over) even in a strong breeze. Verstility, plenty of hanging space, 5 hangers & mesh sheet for drying items flat , it is the best clothes airer/dryer I've ever purchased. A set of wheels on the frame base would make it perfect.
But just how roughly are these items handled during transit from factory to customer?
The 1st one was returned as the frame was badly bent & dented. The replacement was minus one plastic rest on the frame base. It was in 2 pieces at the bottom of the polythene wrapping. Easier to glue it in place the request a 2nd replacement.
Returns service is very good - I just wonder about some of the contract delivery/collection personnel.
