Having read the reviews I thought the good would outweigh the bad however on unpacking the microwave today and putting it on the kitchen surface, I cannot believe how lightweight and easily moveable it is.
My young daughter uses the kitchen and my fear is that she will easily pull it off the worktop just by opening the door - honestly it is really easy to move just opening the door or by lightly pushing the unit.
I will be returning and ordering a De'Longhi that we have owned before and are much more sturdy.
John Lewis please dont stock this product its very disappointing!

After suffering from an ancient microwave for far too long, it is such a relief to be able to do all the things I want in an uncomplicated way.
The unit complements the new kitchen, looks 21st century and keeps everyone happy from simple warming up to defrost and partial cooking. Should have had this long time ago.

Bought our second LG microwave last week sadly the 1st one became U/S after 6 years faithful service. I mean faithful as we use it all the time, every meal. We cook most of our vegetables and fish in it, as well as reheating meals.
The new model works the same as the last one which is so simple and the main reason we bought another LG. The timer function is available to alter at any time
ie when the microwave is running! We have not come across any other microwave that does this. You simply turn the knob to the time you want press start and cooking commences. If then you want increase or decrease the time setting simply turn the knob up or down. Its unbelievable how much time this saves as you do not have to wait for the oven to stop to increase the time. Which usually means you have to set the power level then the time then restart. All this this is replaced by a simple turn of the timer knob, up or down! You do not have set a power level if you want to cook on full power as with many other makes. Pressing the Start button makes the oven run on full power for 30 secs. Numerous presses increases this time in multiples of 30 secs. upto 99 mins if you want! The last plus is you can see whats cooking inside through the door glass. Most other makes we have looked at have very dark tinted glass which prevents this. You have to look inside to see whats happening, why have a glass door?

So far so good and I can highly recommend this microwave oven. I had to return a Samsung MS23H3125AK as it had a fault. I chose this model instead and in comparing the two I am more impressed with the overall build quality of this machine. For example when you press down lightly on the top of this microwave it doesn't bend and sag horribly like the Samsung did so you can place light items on the top of this one.
It's easy to use and works well and I have not had any issues heating or reheating various types of food. You also get minimal condensation in this machine after heating food. Overall I am very pleased with this microwave oven and I can highly recommend it. John Lewis also did a price match on this model which made it better value. I should have opted for this model in the first place instead of wasting my time with the other one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Wills71 smart looking microwave
I bought this microwave from John Lewis six months ago and from my experience of it up to now would recommend it. I find it easy to clean, so it has stayed looking smart. It has a comprehensive instruction booklet for help with the sensor cooking (although I have got used to the amount of time it takes for most things and now just use it manually). It is fairly quiet when operating.

I bought this as a Christmas present for my parents to replace a broken microwave oven, and helped them set it up. Yes, it does tend to slide around a bit on the work surface (mentioned by the other reviewer here), but it's not a big deal; if you open the door promptly the oven will invariably stay in place - I guess it depends on your work surface.
One other negative is that the mains lead is short. I mean ridiculously short, so you may need an extension lead.
Other than that it works well - it's relatively simple to operate and looks good.
