Micro Scooters Special Edition Mini Micro T-Bar Scooter, Candy Lilac

Product information

The mini micro scooter (also known as a bobbi-board) has 3 wheels, making it easier for kids from 3-5 to balance as they 'surf' the pavements. Its low centre of gravity, coupled with the 3 wheels, makes it a very stable scooter to use.
It looks much cooler than the usual scooters aimed at littlies - no oversized wheels or cutesie cartoon characters here, thanks! Little dudes and dudettes will just love zooming along on it.
Developed with the help of medical experts, the mini micro has a plastic base and a T-bar steering column that's easy for small hands to grasp. It's a smooth and graceful ride, giving kids the confidence to make rapid progress.
Please note: We recommend that when using your scooter it is safe to wear a helmet at all times. Please browse the selection of helmets on our website and ensure safety is maintained at all times.

Brand Story

The first Micro scooter was invented in Switzerland when a group of friends wanted a quicker way to get from A to B without relying on bulky bikes or having to haul their car out of the garage. Since then, they have sold millions of their streamlined folding scooters around the world.
After spotting the Swiss scooter in a Clapham playground, two mums, Anna and Philippa, teamed up to distribute Micro scooters in the UK and share their passion for Micro’s bright idea with the nation. John Lewis was the first big name to stock the ingenious new toy, and now Anna and Philippa have helped to sell one million scooters to British children.

Q & As

Rated 3 out of 5 by 3 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by A lovely scooter! We bought this scooter over a year ago just before my daughter's 3rd birthday. My daughter loves it, she adapted to it quickly and found it much more easier to manoeuvre than her previous standard 4 wheeled toddler scooter. Contrary to previous reviews, I think this version is just as sturdy as my friends original micro scooters. My daughter is quite big for her age and it has lasted us over a year with no problems! 05 November 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by wouldn't recommend I agree with the previous poster. The limited edition micro scooters aren't as sturdy as the original ones. After less than a year's use, I am ready to 'pack it in' and buy yet another scooter: the original one this time... What has bothered us most about this limited edition scooter is the wheels. They squeak and my daughter seems to have to work so much harder to go as fast as her friends #which isn't the case when she swaps scooters with them#. Lovely colours but wouldn't recommend!! 29 November 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by Turns out limited editions are substandard Really disappointed with this product. Our older child rides an Original Mini Micro scooter and absolutely loves it. I bought my daughter this as I thought it would be nice for her to have a different colour than the standard pink. Firstly I was disappointed with the colour of the handle grips as they did not match the scooter brake as it suggests in the picture, but are a slightly more lurid purple than I had hoped. The other colours were true to the pictures on the website. The disparity is not a John Lewis fault as the pictures were the same on the Micro Scooter website. I have noticed on a friend's child's limited edition micro scooter that the brake is slightly different to the original brake. On this newer style brake, the clearance from wheel to brake is tiny, much smaller than on the original scooter, which is a problem as the slightest bit of muck or wet leaf that gets in it causes the back wheel to jam. So I was disappointed to find that this scooter had the same design of brake, as I had tried to tell which type it would have before purchase, but you cannot tell from looking at the photographs on either website. Secondly I was disappointed to see how flimsy the steering seemed on this limited edition, with its 'sporty' wheels. On closer inspection I discovered the original scooter has a blanking plate placed over the steering wires, which is missing on the limited edition, but also that the steering wires on the limited edition only have a single loop in them as opposed to a double loop, which probably accounts for how flimsy it seems. All in all I would say that micro scooter have updated their design in order to save production costs but that the Original scooter is a much better buy, less likely to be frustrating on an autumn walk in the park or countryside, and likely to last longer. 19 August 2013
