Q & As

Maclaren Techno XT 2013 Buggy, Black 4.7 5 7 7
Easy to use stroller We bought this stroller to keep in the car making journeys and unexpected trips easier. Our 21 month old son loves it, he calls it his "big boy buggy". We love it to as it easy to use, lightweight and comfortable. I would say that the straps are quite tricky to adjust and can seem a little tight. Our son is quite slight so this is not a problem I have had before. Would recommend though. 01 April 2014
Good purchase! I already have a bugaboo chameleon but wanted something a little less bulky and quicker and easier to put up now that my son is 13 months old. It suits its purpose brilliantly! Easy to put up and down, really nice to push/steer and my son is comfortable and sleeps well in it when he needs to. Obviously the storage is smaller than I'm used to but that's what I expected with a buggy rather than a system. The fact that the hood opens up to use as a sunshade is a real bonus. Very happy! 18 March 2014
Great product Great product, as expected from Maclaren, another winner! My grandaughter will be very comfy in this pushchair. I remember buying one for my children some 30 years ago. 15 January 2014
A fabulous Buggy A great buggy for all Mums and Dads who are fed up with bulky travel systems. My son is 6 months and he looks very comfortable; he is well supported when sitting upright and the four different recline positions allow him to lie flat. It is very easy to put up and down and the larger wheels provide a much smoother ride. If, like me, you were wondering what the real difference is between the Quest, XT and XLR, I would say the Quest is a great little buggy for the smaller car / holiday travels / popping into town, my first child had a Quest at the age of one and was very happy in it (if baby is not in the pushchair it does tip over if bags are hanging off it). The XT is much more solid than the Quest and comfortable, with an excellent sun shade that pulls right down. The basket has a solid piece of material at the bottom (not just net as with the Quest), saving things getting damp in wet weather. The basket, as expected, is not as big as those of the larger travel systems and is a little harder to reach, but it seems to fit all I need. The XT fits horizontally in a Ford Focus with a few inches to spare so small cars beware. It is quite a tall buggy, I am 5.5 and it is fine, but if you are smaller you might want to try it out first. Having also looked at the XLR in the shop I have to say it looked very comfortable and it comes with all the accessories, but it is the biggest of all three buggies. I am very pleased with the new 2013 XT and I hope this review helps Mums in their search for the perfect buggy! 25 September 2013
Excellent purchase Very easy to use, lightweight, compact for the car boot and a great alternative to our much bigger / heavier silvercross pram travel system. Suitable for newborns however i would not have used this buggy for our newborn (even though it has head support, fwd facing only, small viewing window etc) he is now 5 months and has adapted to this buggy really well. Shame you can't buy many matching accessories on the JL site. 23 July 2013
Maclaren xt I bought this because the bugaboo bee plus that I have is a pain to open when in a hurry i find it easy to open and put dwn but a real pain to put back up due to the locking mechanism on the bee, I've taken it up london by train a couple off times and I've found it a pain to carry and hold if needed to be folded, and feels a lot heavier than the maclaren to hold although there isn't much in weight difference, the maclaren is longer when folded but u can get a good grip when holding it as it has the carry handle, the bee is nice and I do like my baby to have the best as she is my last lol but I do wish I didn't waste my money on the bee, the maclaren xt is just as good if not better than the bee, the malaren feels stronger and better made if u ask me, the only thing that I think let's the xt dwn is the harness straps, there so hard to adjusted but won't have to be done all the time so shouldn't be too much off a pain and also the harness high is at its lowest and still seems like its not as low as it should be and she's 11 months there's 3 hight settings, therefor I wouldn't put a newborn in this, it seems to dig in her neck although she doesn't moan and will get better as she grows, I really like the xt and glad i picked this and im happy with it, and think it will last until she no longer needs a stroller ( not aloud no more lol) I like this better than the bee as it is easyer to fold and unfold to take out off the car quick if ur just popping in out to the shops as I said I much prefer this than the bee, don't waste ur money the maclaren xt is much better and will be more ideal if needed to get on and off public transport for days out, which is what I intend to use it for 20 June 2013
Lightweight, sleek with loads of features! I primarily bought this for holidays and for when my heavyweight pushchair isn't needed. I was a bit concerned that this wouldn't live up to my fairly pricey pushchair/travel system, but am really pleased the product and believe it's completely worth the money. It steers well, and you can do it one handed if your other is carrying bags/ a baby! There's lots of features, incl. telescopic handlebars which are useful for tall people, a hood with three positions, and a one handed recline mechanism. It also looks really sleek, has a decent sized shopping basket and folds up fairly compact. Would definitely recommend to friends. 13 June 2013
