Q & As

Rated 3.4 out of 5 by 16 reviewers.
Rated 1 out of 5 by Such varied reviews ! First 4 reviews when I looked where terrible and the rest very positive. I decided to order and take a look. Total waste of time. There is so much play on the bed that the food sits on that it would be impossible to slice evenly unless you had three hands. Thinking about about the Graef now but JL make you wait 3 weeks for delivery grrrr ! 15 March 2015
Rated 1 out of 5 by Disappointing Very difficult to slice evenly, the food holder does not grip enough and have just had a terrible time slicing some Jammon Iberico with the ham sliding all over the place and had to resort to holding the meat with kitchen towel and my fingers.........not ideal...would be very easy to slice my fingers. and then there was a nasty smell.....ie motor struggling so had to turn it off and wait a while. It is fine for a bit of salami but useless for slicing round loaves of sourdough bread and I am most disappointed with it. Also it is very difficult to clean. I have had Magimix Processors for years and loved them (although the new one is not as good as the old)ones, such a pity as Magimix were once so wonderful. 07 February 2015
Rated 1 out of 5 by Flimsy, noisy and not very good! I really wanted to like this slicer but unfortunately I wouldn't recommend it. After the first use I have decided to return it and buy the Graef, there is a big difference in price but there really isn't any comparison.  On the thickest setting the bread came out at 1cm thick, too thin for a sandwich. Flimsy design, certainly not smooth motion when slicing, sounds like a chainsaw and very difficult to clean, even breadcrumbs.  18 January 2015
Rated 1 out of 5 by Useless product I have not been able to slice more than one slice of parma ham, before the motor overheats and burns out, giving off an acrid burnt plastic smell. I have had one replacement and one repaired and have now given up as it is just not up to the job. Not worth the space in the kitchen. Very disappointed 05 June 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by Very disappointing This product was purchased mainly to slice home-made bread and occasionally cooked meat. Although it slices bread effectively it is very difficult to clean. The plastic components have too many joints, recesses and holes for screws that attract food debris. However, the biggest problem is reliability. The first one lasted only 3 months before the motor burned out. Its replacement has lasted almost 2 years, but whilst slicing some ham the motor has just made a grinding noise accompanied by plumes of acrid smoke and expired again. It is a good job it has a 3 year guarantee so it will be returned after Christmas. It really should be much better. 24 December 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Slicer Fantastic slicer! It can slice very thinly e it is very efficient. It is also very easy to clean and it's very compact to store away. I love Parma Ham and Italian cured meats and this slicer is perfect to slice very hard meats. Very good quality for the price! 13 November 2012
Rated 3 out of 5 by hard to clean I feel that this machine has too many plastic parts - would have preferred a more solid design. Also a little hard to clean, meaning you have to weigh up the benefits of neat sliced food (which it does very well) against the pain of taking it apart to clean. 27 June 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by A boon in the kitchen This was a Christmas present and I use it mostly for slicing meats but also for slicing bread which I make weekly then freeze. 29 February 2012
