Magimix Ice Cream Maker, 11047 Le Glacier 1.1, White
Great Ice Cream !!
The machine is compact and makes about a pint of ice cream.
Initially we used the bowl of the ice cream maker straight from the freezer, but the ice cream was not churning for as long as it needed as the bowl was too cold. Subsequently, we have taken the bowl from the freezer and left it out for about 30 mins before adding the ice cream mix so it now churns perfectly.
We have made a variety of flavours of ice cream and they have all been successful not to mention delicious.
The quantity of ice cream made in this machine is sufficient for our family, and it's nice to know that we have the luxury of freshly made ice cream at home.
I am happy to recommend this ice cream maker.
Don't give up if the first attempt doesn't work as well as it should.
The end result is worth it.

Great at first, but doesn't last
As many others have said, it does make great ice cream when you first use it, however the design means this is disappointingly short lived. After 18 months of light use the base on ours has developed fine cracks allowing the freezing agent to escape. If you want delicious ice cream into the future I'd advise you look elsewhere, Happy ice cream making!

Broke on first use - awful design
The paddle snapped off and into pieces (chocolate ice cream with plastic chunks anyone?) on its first use.
It is impossible to clean (in order to return it to store) because ice cream has got between the plastic bowl lid and the motor which sits on top. The two do not come apart and I can't dump it in soapy water because of the motor.
The accompanying recipes are also poor, cross referencing to the basic recipe but with different quantities and missing stages out.
One very disappointed 11 year old birthday girl.

makes great icecream
Really useful piece of equipment. Straightforward instructions and the results are very tasty icecream. Would encourage others to have a go, especially if you have young children.

Made delicious smooth and soft icecream the first 3 times. Easy to use and not long to wait for dessert.
On attempt number 4 the small plastic attachment connecting the stirrer to the motor snapped. One 10p chunk of plastic broken and the whole machine was rendered useless.
JL were happy to replace it for us but, being so short-lived a product, we decided on a refund.

Storing the lid with its parts safely and hygienically
This is a great little machine and works very quickly to make ice cream - our first batch was ready in just 15 minutes!
Tip: as has been commented elsewhere, it would be easy to lose the little spindle and, while we normally keep the bowl in the freezer (as recommended by the manufacturer) so that we are always ready to make more ice cream, the motor lid, spindle and paddle need to be kept somewhere safe and are an awkward shape to just sit on a shelf. I have found a solution for this - the 3 Litre box from the "Really Useful Box" company (the one for CDs) is just the perfect size (no I don't have shares in this company!) so there should be no chance of losing that spindle, and these important parts can all be stored safely and hygienically.

A really outstanding product
This product was very useful, and made delicous ice cream. The ice cream that it made was outstandingly creamy, the sorbets were mouth watering, and the sauces were mind blowing!!!!!!!Although there were a few uniquely wierd recipes like brown bread ice cream!!!!! The instructions were really helpfull, but it wasn't quite clear on how to start the mashine!!!!!!! So far i have to admitt that the best flavour ice crem was definatly strawberry, as it was astonishing!!!!!!!! It's really quick and easy to use, and over alll a marvolous product!!!
