Francis Kurkdjian was born an artist, but became a perfumer. He has a love of raw materials, a natural curiosity about people and taking risks. Having been taking risks since he started out 20 years ago; instead of settling comfortably into the beginnings of a brilliant career, he opened the pathways to a new vision. He was the first to open his bespoke fragrance workshop, going against the trend of democratization of perfume. Creating gigantic olfactory systems in emblematic spaces, he made people dream with his perfumed and ephemerally spectacular performances. All the while continuing to create perfumes for world famous fashion brands and designers. Together with Marc Chaya, a training partner at Ernst & Young, Maison Francis Kurkdjian opened in 2009. yet in the middle of an economic crisis and in an indus-try that left little room for the perfumer. Yet the true purity of scent, sophistication and elegance stands the test of time. Maison Francis Kurkdjian is a boutique fragrance house that values art, craftsmanship and authenticity. It is a house of fragrance but it is also a house of art.
