Matthew Hilton for SCP Balzac Leather Armchair and Ottoman, Russet Tan
Product informationFirst produced in 1991, the Balzac chair is the brainchild of designer Matthew Hilton. It has a solid beech frame and is upholstered in leather with multi-density foam with feather cushions. But of course, the most striking feature is its sweeping, low-slung shape. This instantly recognisable form has led Balzac to become something of an icon, and it has been rewarded in kind with permanent residency at the Geffrye Museum, the Museum of the English Domestic Interior.
