Harvested in West Africa using a traditional method of extraction, Melvita's organic shea butter is ideal for extremely dry or sensitive skin types. Blended with vitamin E and suitable for use on your face, body and hair, this replenishing butter soothes and hydrates your skin so that it is soft and supple.

Tip: put a small amount into your bath water for smooth, soft skin or apply to “split ends” to nourish your hair.

Inspired by a passion for bees and named after the Latin for “honey” (mel) and “life” (vita) certified organic skincare brand Melvita was established in 1983 by French beekeeper and biologist Bernard Chevilliat.

After moving to a farm in the Ardèche which had beehives, Bernard became interested in beekeeping and the significant role that bees play in nature. Together with his wife and brother, they developed their own natural and organic range, with their first product being a hexagonal soap made from honey from their hives.
