Dissapointing This was my third Miele cleaner and will probably be my last. Best word to describe using it is annoying. Build quality definately cheaper than my other cleaners, cord knots and gets tangled and is very difficult to retract. Tools no longer stored inside machine which is inconvenient. Difficult to take metal hose off to attach hand tools. Only plus is that it's lighter thank old models but that's probably because it's so cheaply made. 10 May 2013

very powerful but cheaply made after less than 100 cleans, the filter fixings have broken, meaning loss of suction. This is not anywhere near the quality of our previous miele hoover. be warned! 11 February 2013

Disappointing Expected this hoover to wipe the floor with the cheap previous hoovers we had bought. It did a great job until we found the filter kept popping and it kept losing suction. We initially thought that maybe this was due to a full bag or the filter needing cleaning, it was not. The filter did not quite seem to lock in properly and despite being sent back to the manufacturers and the filter being changed it happened again. It seemed like an incompatible part or a design fault. Any how, after twice being disppointed and Miele blaming us for using the wrong bags we have given up. Fortunately John lewis, as always, have been excellent and are allowing us to choose a replacement. A Bosch this time perhaps? 29 January 2013

Brilliant Have to confess being a bit of a Miele fan, even though I don't even know how to pronounce the name. This vacuum is a replacement for an almost identical one bought from John Lewis a little under 20 years ago. It has survived 2 long haired dogs, and 3 children!! Even now it is still going and has been consigned to the garage for car duties. Can,t praise this new vac enough, it is even better than the old one. The addition of the turbo head is a definite plus. 18 January 2013

Very efficient cleaner I have had a Miele Cat & Dog vacuum cleaner before but this one is even better - it is lighter, easier to use on the stairs and has even more suction. 05 January 2013

Very pleased I like the lightness of this cleaner, easy to carry and pull around - I was getting fed up with great clunky pieces of kit. Excellent suction and there's a variety of suction strength options for the type of flooring (perhaps the person in the last review needs to check which setting they're using/check the position of the dial?). The bags are really small but I took a decision to live with this as I have a medium-sized house, more laminate flooring than carpet and was more keen on having a lightweight yet effective machine for cat hair - this machine fits the bill nicely and at a very reasonable price. 30 December 2012

Disappointed! I bought this yesterday based on the great reviews on this site and chose it over the newer S8310 PowerPlus, which is highly reviewed by Which. So far the results are underwhelming. And without the turbobrush, the carpets wouldn't get clean at all. But I really have to put my back into it. What am I missing? 28 December 2012

Great product on hard floor and carpet I always liked Miele but am really impressed with this vacuum cleaner. It is light and yet has a fantastic suction. It works just as well on my carpet as on the wooden floor . It picks up all the hairs and dirt dirt and leaves the floor feel smooth and clean. Highly recommend 26 December 2012
