Great looks pitty about the quality I chose the Modaine watch for it's classic yet contemporary looks and slim line (6.5mm) body. However, I had to replace the first watch within two weeks due to it losing 30 minutes each week. I had excellent service from JL, collecting the replacement within 24 hours from my local Waitrose. The second watch lasted only 8 days until an extended heavy down pour rendered the watch face internally damp making the face unreadable. I have decided to request a refund, the service from John Lewis/Waitrose has been excellent throughout. 17 October 2012

visually striking watch I have purchased watches in the past based on reviews detailing the ease of viewing and visibility in all light conditions, yet I have been dissapointed with my puchases. This watch is not only visually appealling and classy, but for someone who generally wears reading glasses, it is very clear and performs it prime function rather than just looking good. I am delighted with my purchase, I was waiting for a drop in price of the automatic watch but they keep their price for obvious reasons. I therefore had to content myself with the battery version. 31 July 2012
