Q & As

Rated 4.4 out of 5 by 7 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by good product 12324 well made and just the right size for a family 29 May 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Fantastic product, highly recommend! I have purchased three Morphy Richards slow cookers over the years and this one is by far the best! The brushed steel cooking pot is much lighter than the traditional 'crock pots' making it easier to handle. The steel cooking pot also means that you can put it on a hob to sear and brown the meat then transfer it to its base to add your other ingredients to slow cook, so there is no longer any need to brown and sear meat in a separate pan first - less mess and washing up! The steel cooking pot and lid can also be put into the dishwasher after use or easily cleaned by hand because its non-stick, and the 3 heat settings are easy to use. I did consider the Morphy Richards 'digital' version #not currently sold by JL# but decided against it because it doesn't have a true programmable delay timer - it just counts down from when you set it and switches itself to 'warm' for 2 hours, and the digital version is over £25 more expensive just for this added feature. This product is also cheaper to buy in JL compared to a couple of other High Street stores that I looked at, so happy days! 09 April 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Very efficient Easy to sear meat first and the casserole is not too heavy to handle. Would recommend this slow cooker. 04 February 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent product We have been really pleased with this slow cooker. We especially like that you can use the pot on the hob as it saves on washing up and is so much quicker. We would highly recommend it. 20 January 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Delighted with my purchase I bought this to replace my very old slow cooker. I love the fact that I can cook in the pot and then transfer it to the base, the cooking pot does get hot but using oven gloves solved that. I have so far cooked stews, curries and lamb shanks all to perfection. The pot is easy to clean and I would highly recommend this product. 30 August 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Satisfaction guaranteed A slow cooker was recommended to us so we decided to look into the slow cooking further. We are delighted to have made the purchase of a Morphy Richards Sear and Stew slow cooker. 28 November 2013
Rated 1 out of 5 by Seemed like a good idea... I chose this slow cooker because it is possible to use the inner pot on the hob to brown ingredients. It is very light compared to those with ceramic pots. However, when used on the hob this means that it slides about when you stir the contents, at least on my ceramic hob. The pot is huge (6.5 litres) and doesn't actually fit on any of the cooking areas. The handles do not stay cool, which is awkward when you have to hold it in place. However, I used it to cook a couple of very nice stews. It doesn't have an Auto setting, and when used on High there is some burning on the bottom. This washed off easily. Then I made a risotto, using a recipe from a slow-cooker cookbook. Unfortunately the rice scratched the non-stick finish very badly. The slow cooker has been returned for a refund. Shame - great idea, poor product. 04 November 2013
