Product information

The Nikon P7800 handles like a pro and shoots in extreme detail. Its compact frame is ideal for travel and with a range of exposure controls; you can add a personal feel to every image. This camera also captures Full HD when a single image just won’t do. With the optional wireless adapter (available separately) the P7800 connects to Android and iOS devices for more shooting options.

7x NIKKOR lens
A 28-200mm 7-blade NIKKOR lens creates more defined foregrounds and smoother backgrounds for professional bokeh. Along with a max aperature of f/2-4 this camera shoots well in all conditions.

CMOS sensor
The 1.7-inch 12 megapixel CMOS sensor reduces noise, giving more detail in low light. High speed shooting is boosted as well.

Electronic viewfinder & tilting screen
Enjoy better framing and more intimate portraits with the high definition viewfinder. The tilting, flipping 3-inch screen offers more versatility when shooting landscapes and groups.

Full HD
Enjoy the full detail of 1080p video at home. This mode is flexible too with custom fps, shutter speed, aperture and ISO settings.

Vibration reduction
Counter camera shake and get images that are sharper than ever. This also works at full zoom capacity, letting you shoot with confidence.

RAW compatible
Make the most of that powerful CMOS sensor. RAW files contain more detail and make for better results in photo-editing software.

Hot shoe cover, strap, battery, lens cap, USB cable. ViewNX2 software and charger.

Q & As

Rated 4.7 out of 5 by 3 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Nikon P7800 Bought this to replace an ageing Canon G5 and am so pleased I did so. Gone is the split second delay when releasing the shutter...this camera reacts instantly. The electronic viewfinder is brilliant, I only use the screen now for awkward angle shots. Plenty of manual control options for taking shots, or fully automatic. As good as in the 'old days' when I used an SLR with umpteen lenses, but now in a compact, pocketable package. 29 September 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by A Truly Wonderful Camera If you want a Camera with a see through Viewfinder but do not want to carry round a huge DSLR because you want it with you all the time, then this is the Camera to buy. Its small enough to carry in a pocket but big on features and with a view finder you can at least use it in bright sunlight and snow. 12 May 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by A Great Camera with Known Limitations You will get really great images from this camera, with the 200mm lens, EVF (ignore criticisms) and articulated screen being a very positive advantage. This camera is not suitable for sports or action shooters though, as when shooting in RAW (even on a UHS 1 card) the write to card speed is 4-5 secs, plus, when shooting 'continuous' the screen blacks out. I was aware of the latter thought when I bought the camera and they are therefore the 'known limitations' I refer to. If you want a similar camera that is better for action shots and better 'straight out of the camera images, then buy a Canon G16 (I have both) which does not have those limitations, although again, it has a shorter lens, no EVF and no articulated screen, so it is a trade off really as to what you want to do with the camera. Top tip; to get the best 'straight out of the camera' jpeg images from the Nikon P7800, increase the Default Menu Settings in 'Custom Picture Control' to:- Sharpness +1 Contrast +1 Saturation +1 Manual: you will only get a printed Quick Start Guide with this camera, although, when you have registered the camera online with Nikon UK (essential to get the 2 yr guarantee), ask them to send you the full printed Reference Manual, which they will do Free Of Charge and it is invaluable, and much easier that trying to use it on the disk they provide, as it is a comprehensive couple of hundred pages long. 08 July 2014
