Nokia Lumia 2520 Tablet, Qualcomm Snapdragon, Windows RT 8.1, 10.1", 32GB, Wi-Fi & 4G LTE, Black

Product information

Running on Windows RT 8.1, Nokia's Lumia 2520 tablet is the perfect companion for everything in your life. It features a bright 10.1-inch display, 4G LTE connectivity and super-fast charging, as well as Microsoft Office RT Edition for editing and creating documents, spreadsheets, slideshows and electronic notes and accessing your emails and calendar.

Windows RT and Microsoft Office
With Windows RT, you can experience the best of Windows, tailored for touch screen interaction. The Start Screen with Live Tiles opens up the world of RT to you, providing you with shortcuts to your apps and games. These shortcuts, known as Live Tiles, can be set to automatically update, providing you with news from the web or your favourite social network, displayed on the tile itself, so you don't even need to open the app to get a quick update. Windows RT also comes complete with Microsoft Office RT Edition. Create and edit Word, Excel and PowerPoint files on the go and access your emails through Outlook.

Keep Connected
Lumia 2520 comes with several connectivity options to help you get the most out of your tablet on the go. You can access the internet through Wi-Fi, or on the go using a SIM card and 4G LTE, for super-fast browsing using mobile networks. It also includes NFC, Bluetooth 4.0 and microUSB connections for files sharing and data streaming, as well as a micro HDMI port for connecting you tablet to a high definition television, monitor or projector.

Long battery life, fast charging
No one wants to be tied to a power point with their tablet, so Nokia have designed the Lumia 2520 to keep you free from cables for as long as possible. The 8120mAh battery will keep you computing for up to 11 hours of use or 25 days of standby time. When you're running low on reserves, you can use the supplied Nokia charger to plug in your tablet and charge 80% of your battery in just one hour, to help set you free as soon as possible.

High definition, even in bright light
The Lumia 2520's screen features a full HD 1920 x 1080 resolution, displaying 218 pixels per inch. Made from Corning Gorilla Glass 2, this screen provides vivid, crisp images, with 24-bit TrueColor technology and a wide viewing angle. It's also been designed with enhanced outdoor readability, enabling you to see your display, even in bright sunlight.

Please note: Network charges may apply when using a 4G LTE or HSPA+ data plan. Please see your network's terms and conditions for further information.

Nokia fan This is my fourth tablet. After trying three cheap Android powered tablets, all of which failed for one reason or another, I decided to go for the Windows powered Nokia. Nokia was an obvious chioce for me. Every phone I have had has been a Nokia; the first one was the size of a half-brick. That's a long time ago. I have been looking for a tablet that I could carry around instead of lugging a lap-top with me. This one pretty well fits that bill. It will log onto my office network (unlike the Androids), is compatible with my phone and, since I upgraded it to Windows 8.1, my laptop. The battery lasts for about three days with fairly constant use and the on-screen key board works well. It is very sensative to the touch. For serious writing however it will need the addition of a physical keyboard. My only complaint is that if Microsoft doesn't make it, you can't have it. So no Thunderbird or Firefox. Also it will not do pop3 email. There are aps for this but I have had to set my server to forward emails to a G-mail account. Otherwise a great bit of kit. I bought it from John Lewis because of the three year warrrenty. After my previous experience it seemed a wise precaution. 01 October 2014
Not a good experience. I received a Nokia Lumia 520 for work and really liked it. I was thinking about upgrading my own phone and buying a tablet and had a look on the Nokia website and discovered the Lumia tablet. I decided to buy the tablet and Lumia 625 phone for myself. All Nokia, all Lumia, they will all talk to each other, what could go wrong? Actually very little has gone right. John Lewis’s delivery was bang on time so full marks for that. The 520 and 625 have no problem communicating through Bluetooth. The tablet pairs and then drops the connection with both, nor will it communicate over Wi-Fi. The home and work laptops will share with the tablet, but Windows RT is not set to share, therefore the tablet will not share with the laptops. Very selfish. The email app worked well up to last week but has since stopped working. Removing and reloading has not solved the problem, and the password is correct. MS Outlook stopped working six months ago; again passwords are correct. I received the warning about the power adaptor in June, filled in the form and nothing has turned up yet. The adaptor seems fine though. It is a very nice piece of kit, well made and feels great quality- the screen and display are first class. The power keyboard case is a great addition for it and makes the transition from laptop to pad easier, although my thumb typing is getting good. But as it seems to be unable to carry out some very basic functions I feel that it is as user friendly as a …well… very un-user friendly thing which sits and sulks every time I ask it to do something. Much as I want to recommend – I cannot. 28 September 2014
Nokia2520 At first it was useless, because john lewis send me this product with pay as you go EE sim card, which cost me a fortune in topup charges and never toped up. However im using it with o2 now and love it. The picture quality really is best, excellent for business use. it has all the usualy windows office tools tool, so im very happy now. Thankyou Nokia, its much better than a silly ipad, and thankyou John Lewis, i will probably buy another soon for my G/F or daughter.......................Trevor 09 September 2014
Multiple glitches My wife bought 2 of these tablets in March, 1 for herself and 1 for her business partner. Both units have been plagued with a lot of glitches since the start and seem to be getting worse. The main fault is that 80% of the time the tablets are attempted to turn on from standby they have frozen and you have to go through a lengthy rebooting procedure, very frustrating! The other main fault is that it they randomly do not pick up the wifi in the place of business and at home, you have to go to settings and keep turning the wifi on and off until it picks up the signal. (they are set to auto connect to these routers). Also the chargers for these tablets were deemed dangerous by Nokia, both were registered with Nokia months ago but no replacements in sight. When there working they are really useful tool but with too many faults there more frustrating than helpful. I think my wife is boxing them back up and taking them back to John Lewis Sheffield for a refund or alternative replacement. 05 September 2014
Excellent tablet with great performance I bought this tablet during the recent price promotion at John Lewis. I had been looking for a high performance lightweight tablet that could be used instead of my laptop, but one that didn't carry a huge price tag. The Nokia fitted the bill nicely - it has Microsoft Office included as standard and offline maps and navigation. The price I bought it for was over £300 less than the equivalent iPad Air (32GB Cellular version) and is as good as, if not better, than the iPad for my needs. As a tablet, it has very good performance - applications and web browsing are very fast. The screen is superb and very bright at full brightness. I like the fast charge capability, and the micro USB / micro HDMI ports which allow me to connect to monitors, TVs, external storage and peripherals. Memory can be expanded with the micro SD card slot which is a big plus. The Windows RT operating system will be familiar to you if you have used Windows 8 and it works very well as a tablet OS ... I like the side by side mode with two apps on screen at the same time. I don't use many apps so the 'size of apps store' criticism is not an issue at all, and all the apps I might need are there anyway including some very useful Nokia exclusives. So in summary, I would definitely recommend this tablet as a cheaper and more powerful alternative to the current crop of top of the range tablets. 03 August 2014
2520 excellent A brilliant purchase I bought the 2520 in a John Lewis when it was on a one week special offer of £100 off plus £99 for the power keyboard. Bargain enough but then I got the notice of the charger issue which as an engineer I understood it only related to if sufficient force was used the plug could be pulled off revealing potentially live contacts this I could safely ignore and continue to use until it was quickly replaced by Nokia who also included a £80 Amazon voucher 'for my trouble' ... Bargain again! Incidentally it is a brilliant tablet, fast, best screen, best audio built in office and seemless interface with One Drive on the 2520, my Nokia phone and my Sony laptop making it the only computer I need when travelling and working away from home. 19 July 2014
Superb tablet with windows and 4G As a lover of my Nokia 920 mobile phone the Nokia 2520 was an obvious choice of tablet computer. The windows operating system is familiar and easy to use, and overall the tablet fits nicely between a PC and mobile phone. All of my windows live contacts, calendar etc. came across easily, as did photos from skydrive. I would recommend an adaptor to connect from the micro USB port to a powered HDD or USB hub for transfer of music files etc. But there are other methods possible. The included free Microsoft office suite (mobile version with reduced functions) is a real bonus. Battery life is very good and the screen quality is excellent. I bought my tablet when on offer and so it was terrific value. I personally much prefer it to the MS surface and the Nokia is 4G too. I plan to get a data only SIM soon. I have also just ordered a 32GB microSD card from John Lewis to boost the memory, but this is just to future proof the unit. Although I have only had my tablet for a few weeks I wouldn't want to be without it now. I am told that there are less apps on windows than apple but there are plenty for me, take a look at a Nokia and you may well be surprised. 15 July 2014
Quality Product This tablet is simply the best looking device on the market. Build and design quality is typical of Nokia's high standards, anyone that uses a top of the range Lumia phone will love this tablet. In my opinion, the Windows 8 interface is just perfect for tablets and I don't find Windows RT restrictive whatsoever, this is a tablet afterall, so it will be used differently to a PC or laptop. It comes preloaded with a good selection of productivity and entertainment apps already installed, including MS Office & Outlook. There are plenty of other apps available for download from the Windows Store, so don't believe the misinformation that Windows RT is limited by a poor choice of apps, it simply isn't true. Admittedly some other tablet operating systems have a greater choice, but 90% of what's out there is pointless anyway, you'll very likely find that everything you require is available for Windows RT. Setup is very straightforward indeed. If you already have a Microsoft Account it takes just minutes to automatically sync with your email and social accounts, all contact, calendar details, etc. are available instantly. The screen is both very bright and colourful and a pleasure to use. Text is perfectly crisp, so no eye strain after long periods of use. Wifi connectivity is solid, offering both 2.4 GHz and fast 5.0 GHz speed options. The bonus for connecting on the move is access to the fast 4G mobile phone network, so no need to find a wifi hot-spot (with it's associated security risks!). I have been using this tablet for five weeks now and I am extremely satisfied with my purchase. General use is very easy to pick up, but I am still discovering lots more that this device is capable of. I have only one negative comment and that is finding a good protective case specifically designed for this tablet is difficult, although you will probably find that any intended for the Microsoft Surface tablet will suit this tablet also. Would I buy again? You bet I would! 10 July 2014
