Off The Wall Motion Stand for up to 55" TVs
OFF THE WALL TV STAND
Although this is an excellent TV stand can anyone answer me this question. The bar at the back that hides all the wires, when assembled, is there supposed to be a large gap. We have quite a few wires going through this cable tidy and theres a 2 inch gap which makes it look cheap

Worth the money, looks fantastic!
We have mounted an 8Series 55" Samsung TV and Sonos Playbar on this stand and with the built in gaps for cable tidying this really does make your TV / Soundbar setup look fantastic.
PLEASE NOTE - You DO need to purchase the additional Sonos playbar wall mount bracket for the playbar to be integrated as the 'arms' for mounting a sound bar that comes with the stand is unfortunately just a few inches short for the fixing holes on the Playbar.
I got in touch with the Manufacturer (Motion) to check fixings and load bearing weight etc and their service was excellent.
The bracket will hold TV sizes above 55" and it is worth checking the weight as the fixings really are not a problem.
I was sceptical that it may feel 'flimsy' but it is VERY sturdy and has plenty of weight making this feel like a really good quality product.
Follow the instructions for putting it together in the order described and you shouldn't have any issues.
My only negative comment would be that the sound bar arm could do with being made from a better thickness of metal or have some additional fixings as the weight of the Sonos playbar means it has a slight downward tilt as the arms twist slightly.

Not for Sony tvs
I bought this for my gleaming new Sony tv and sound bar. However, Sony put the bracket mountings at the middle and the bottom of their televisions. This causes two problems. First you need extra mountings from the manufacturer as as extra spacers and longer bolts are required to fit both brackets to the rear of the TV Unfortunately when the TV is fitted to the stand, the base plate protrudes. and a new rear smaller plate is required. So if you are prepared to persevere with this stand, it is stylish and elegant solution to the problem of the rat's maze of wires behind the average TV.

Good looking but a pain to use
The TV stand is unobtrusive so you don't notice it. Having glass shelves helps with this and a single bar at the back. However, and I guess because of this, it really is hassle to get all the wires closed out of sight. Forget the provided 4-gang mains unit and their sticky pads. Use a slimline 4-gang unit and double-sided carpet tape. Also, from Maplin you can get shorter mains and HDMI leads which makes it easier to tuck away the wiring. Having done that the assembly was suddenly much easier. You only do this once anyway.
A very heavy stand so be warned - it is a two-person job to carry. However it really is solid
I think it is brilliant. No wires showing anywhere.

Strong and beautiful television stand. A modern classic style
I am delighted with my telly stand. It looks lovely but more importantly I know my television is held securely. I can sit on one settee and move to the other one 45degrees to it and just touch the revolving angle and see it angled directly at me.
Much has been said about putting it together. I am a 64 ear old lady and a friend helped me build it to the actual telly bracket. My son then can and did the harder work. He rubbed the cable tube with a clean cloth first and then the adhesive pads adhered securely. Folded the cables in and job done.

Great stand (but check out compatability)
I purchased this from John Lewis and found the stand to be well built, easy to assemble and good at hiding cabling. The finished product looks good and really helped tidy-up my living room.
One word of warning - JL site simply states that the stand is suitable for a maximum size and weight of TV. This misses cruicial information about how it is only compatible with TV's that have fixing centres from 10 - 42 cms wide. (Info. from the manufacturer's own site)
Before you order measure the fixing points at the back of your TV from the centre point - as long as they are less than 42cm you should be OK.
I found out the hard way as my 42 " Pioneer Plasma TV has fixing points that are more than 42cm from the centre so it would not fit. I was able to use it for another TV so l will be keeping the stand.

Very good product!
Had to buy a stand and tv after I purchased a Sound Bar. It wasn't what I had in mind for a tv stand/unit but when it arrived and it was assembled I was delighted with the end result. It's sleek, modern, good quality black glass and it hides all the cables. Very happy with this product!
