Rated 4 out of 5 by Pete2014UK Excellent bit of kit, well designed and made - watch out for mislabelled items
I was very pleased with this product - it's an excellent space saver and looks smart.
Although it's supposedly a two-person job to fit together, I managed on my own, with a little help from the boxes supplied. It's a little tricky putting the TV onto the stand whilst tightening the bolts (not helped by the fiddly alan key set-up), so consider having an extra pair of hands on stand-by (especially if you're fitting a large TV).
The instructions are (unusually these days) very clear and each component is shown to scale so you can see what bolt/fixing you should be using. Unfortnately some of the bag labels weren't correct so I had a little work making sure I had the right one. This is important as they each have a specific role - you can't just use one that sort of looks right, cos it'll mean you won't have it when it's really needed.
It comes with a load of cable-tidy accessories (cable ties and fixings etc) which I wasn't expecting. This includes a 4 plug extension cable which actually fits in the back part hidden from view. I haven't used this, as once you put the back plate on you can't easily unplug things if you need to. If you don't care about this then I can imagine this being very useful.
I only fitted a 32'' TV so I can't comment on fixing larger units to it, but my TV is pretty heavy and it sits securely. If you like your TV at a high level you'd need to be careful but the base is big and weighty. Adjusting the height and angle etc is a little fiddly but with someone else it shouldn't be too much of a pain.
The glass shelves are a good size (enough to put a standard Blu-ray player on it and have space next to it for the remote). One thing to note is that the bolts that fix the shelf to the unit sit lightly above the plane of the glass. So a low-sitting device might not sit flush. That said, the stand comes with stick-on rubber feet to lift a low-lying unit above these bolts. This is only a problem if you don't want to stick them to your device.

Rated 3 out of 5 by PoseyP Far too time consuming to assemble!
The item looks good and is solid but took far far too long to assemble - why could it not have come ready made?

Rated 5 out of 5 by Jallano Excellent product
Purchased the stand for my LG 4K smart TV also bought from John Lewis. This is a great stand to compliment any TV and a good piece of furniture.
It comes well packaged as the previous review stated.
As an ex engineer I can only compliment the manufacturer on the build quality of the product,.
They have taken into account every possible combination of fixing and provided all the necessary screws and bolts.
The only thing I could fault is that some manufacturers of set top boxes employ LV adapters for their equipment, and as these are larger than normal 13 amp plugs, these cannot be housed in the pedestal due to their physical size.
The instructions should be very easy to follow even for a novice in DIY.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Picturethis65 Great Stand for my 48" TV, but error in the instructions.
First of all I am delighted with the stand, its solid, and a lovely piece of furniture. My 48" Samsung telly also purchased from John Lewis, looks absolutely brilliant on it. 5 stars.
It comes flat packed as you would expect, and extremely well packaged, with masses of polystyrene packing inside. 5 stars.
This is where the good news ends. There are masses of screws, nuts, washers, all different sizes, some are bagged and labelled, most are not.
The instruction leaflet tells you to first check the contents - as they are not marked most of the screws etc its near impossible to check that they are all there. I couldn't so proceeded with the build.
At stage 3 on the build I was stopped as the instrctions called for screw E which was 15mm long. It turned out that the screw was in fact 11mm long. I must have spent an hour searching for this countersunk 15mm screw, when in fact it was in the kit as 11mm. This error appeared again when fitting the TV brackets, called for an 15mm screw that was actually 11mm. Apart from these two errors on the instructions they are pretty good to follow. 3 stars for this.
If the supplier is reading this review please correct the instructions on future supplies.
Apart form the mix up in screw sizes and identification I would recommend this very nice product.
