Update your existing sofa

If you have a much-loved sofa or chair that's in need of repair or re-covering, we can help. First, choose any upholstery fabric from us, and we can then arrange for an upholsterer to visit your home, measure up and give you an estimate. Just call or ask for an appointment in the furnishings department in your local John Lewis.

Typically this takes 6-8 weeks depending on how much work needs to be done on your chair or sofa. We'll arrange to have it delivered back to you free of charge.

We also sell loose covers, which are perfect if your upholstery just needs updating rather than repair.

Choose your favourite fabric

If you're looking for us to re-upholster for you, visit one of
our shops to see our beautiful range of weaves, prints and plains from William Morris, Harlequin and Sanderson. You'll find 48 different fabric designs in over 260 colour options on display in our upholstery department, plus scores of swatch hangers to leaf through.

For a small, refundable deposit, we can arrange for large returnable samples to be sent directly to you at home, so you can see exactly how the fabric will work with the other elements in your room. 

Customised service

With over 25 sofa ranges and 20 separate pieces from our upholstered furniture range available in our customised upholstery service, you're sure to find something that suits you perfectly. All the available models are clearly marked on shop floor displays in our furniture departments; just look out for the bespoke upholstery ticket.
