We offer the widest range of S:CRAFT made-to-measure shutters, backed up by their experienced measure and fit team. Shutter displays are available to view in our shops (see below), and we can give you a price estimate when you visit.

We'll also help you arrange an appointment or no-obligation quote from one of S:CRAFT's experienced surveyors. The surveyor will visit you at home, bringing a full set of materials, frames and colour samples for you to choose from. They'll also be fitting the shutter installation, so are best placed to discuss the right solution for your windows with you.

Once you've chosen and ordered your shutters, S:CRAFT will contact you when they're available and book an installation appointment with you. The surveyor will come to fit your shutters and provide you with a 3 year warranty.

Take a look at the full range of shutter installation options and material choices via the links above, or visit one of our shops; the made-to-measure shutters service is available from these John Lewis shops, where you can see a range of styles on display:

S:CRAFT shutters are made by a combination of state-of-the-art manufacturing techniques and hand-crafted finishing touches. They're guaranteed for 3 years.

The wood used in these hardwood shutters is stored for 6 months, before kiln drying to allow the wood to settle before being treated. It's kiln-dried twice in a computer-controlled drying facility, which ensures the chance of frame warping is greatly reduced.

Stiles are the side bars of the shutter panels. Rather than producing these as solid pieces, the wood is cut into strips which are then bonded back together in opposing layers for greater strength.

S:CRAFT use mortise and tenon joints between the rail and the stile. These are far stronger than dowel joints and will minimise movement between these elements which can cause cracking in the paint or stain finish. Panels are also engineered with an additional grooved overlap to ensure any movement is handled by this expansion joint.

Cheaper shutters use cheaper paints and stains and utilise less coats, whereas these shutters are made using a high quality, proprietary paint system developed specifically, comprising 7 coats of paint or 6 coats of stain. Shutters are less susceptible to fading and yellowing as a result.

The best quality marine grade stainless steel staples are used to attach our tilt rods to our shutters. The tips of the staples are coated in a bonding agent to make sure they remain secure for years to come.

Shutters are supplied with a large choice of frames, rather than attaching them to batens. This means you're able to frame your window and make sure the style of frame matches your décor. It's also a much stronger and appropriate fit for ease of installation.

Shutters are assembled to fit prior to shipping to make sure all the components fit together perfectly. Once photographed, these are then disassembled and packed into custom-made packaging to ensure your shutters arrive in perfect condition. If being shipped by airfreight, shutters are double-packed for additional security.

S:CRAFT can help you to create the look you've always wanted to match your décor, whether it's contemporary and sleek, traditional, or colourful. All shutters are made-to-measure, so can be supplied for almost any shape and size of window.

Although we tend to associate shutters with traditional houses and rural living, they're also ideal for urban homes; they're popular choices for bedrooms, bathrooms and street-facing windows. They come in a wide range of colours and finishes, and a custom colour option gives you even more choice.

Shutters can provide complete privacy when shut, or allow you partial privacy to let the light in, or be opened completely. Each panel can be independently adjusted to temper the light. Shutter panels can be divided into independently controlled sections, allowing natural light in but keeping unwelcome attention out.

Shutters add an additional layer to your glazing, so they not only block out light, but help reduce noise levels too. They're low maintenance - quick and easy to clean, they're potentially helpful for anyone with dust allergies as they won't hold dust in the way that curtain fabrics can.

Shutters help keep you cool during the summer, but also retain heat during cold weather. They're ideal for awkward-shaped windows (even curved or angled windows, such as portholes and gables for example), as they're specially made to fit.

All S:CRAFT shutters are given 6 coats of paint or stain to give a tough, lustrous finish and to help prevent fading, as the final layer is UV protected.

Tilt rods can be centred, or offset to the left or right; for a contemporary look, a hidden tilt rod option is also available.

Made with care and finished to perfection, S:CRAFT products are of the highest build quality, with craftsmanship guaranteed for 3 years.

The right choice of louvre size is essential to creating the perfect look. You'll need to decide which material you want and then which size best suits your project, while allowing the louvres to be opened without making contact with your window. Your S:CRAFT surveyor will help you make that decision.

Options available:

Made from MDF with a patented polymer coating.

A painted MDF material provides this shutter with a more natural matt finish. It closely resembles the finish of a hardwood shutter, with hardwearing ABS louvres.

Real hardwood panels with MDF frames, great value with an excellent finish typical of a natural wood product.

Beautiful in both painted or stained finishes, Fiji is perfect if you like natural textures and a relaxed, washed look.

Hard wearing ABS and 100% waterproof, so ideal for bathrooms and other wet areas.

Manufactured from certified White Teak grown on the Solomon Islands, this range has a beautiful silvery colour with a tight grain.

Full height

Full height shutters can also be split using a mid-rail, providing a higher level of control, as both sets of shutters above and below the mid-rail will operate individually.

Independent panels top and bottom give greater adjustability to make the most of light, the view or to provide you with privacy.

Bay windows

Choose from a comprehensive range of specially designed bay frames, to provide a modern solution to 3, 5, 7-sided or rectangular bay windows.

Splay bay

A quintessentially British window styling that was limited in the way it could be dressed, until the introduction of internal wooden shutters.

Café style

With the top of the window unshuttered, café-style shutters are ideal for period properties, ground level windows and town houses. They maximise light while providing privacy.

The by-pass system provides an excellent solution if you need sliding doors, room dividers or simply a privacy screen.

Bi-fold tracked shutters work well in conjunction with bi-fold doors, allowing you to concertina large runs of shutters to the side and bring a little of the outside in.

The robust nature of S:CRAFT shutters and their high quality finish provides a fantastic solution for wardrobe doors. Solid panels, solid bases and fixed louvres can be specified as you wish.

Solid shutters have been used in the UK for more than 200 years, and provide a more traditional finish for your window.

French doors

De-clutter your doors with our face-fixed French door shutter solution. As our products are custom made, we're even able to create cut-outs around door furniture to suit each installation.

Shutters can be designed to match almost any radius, allowing you to enjoy your architecture as well as enjoying the light.

Shaped and angled

Even the most unusual shapes can be catered for; popular styles include arches, circles and gable installations.

Tall and curved

Shutters can be designed to fit even large scale windows or curved shapes, and can be supplied with a telescopic rod, for an additional cost, helping you reach even the most out of reach areas.

The combination of engineered panels and a high quality finish, with a final UV protective layer, provides an ideal solution for conservatories – delivering perfect control in terms of light, shade and view through.

Although shutters can be designed to fit windows of almost any size and shape, the most common installations are square or rectangular. If this applies to you, then you can use the following guide to measure up; then simply take your measurements into one of our shops. Our Order desk Partners will be able to provide you with an initial quote, and run through your requirements. For all other shapes and styles, S:CRAFT will send out a surveyor to do an estimate.

Please note down all measurements in millimetres; this will help you to gain a good idea of the end price of your shutters. S:CRAFT will need to carry out a proper survey should you wish to proceed, so that your surveyor can obtain all the detailed information needed to give you an accurate price and ensure a perfect fit.
