About John Lewis Cambridge
Formerly known as Robert Sayle (named after the man who owned and ran the store), it became an official John Lewis shop in 1940.
The shop performed consistently well and it wasn’t long before every inch of space was being utilised. Having leased neighbouring properties in the late 70s and 80s to gain more space, it wasn’t until 2007 (after a temporary relocation and several years of building work) that John Lewis Cambridge settled in the spacious state-of-the-art shop on the corner of Downing Street and St Andrew’s Street.
John Lewis Cambridge is now back on the original Robert Sayle site, on the corner of Downing Street and St Andrew’s Street. You’ll find plenty of parking at the Grand Arcade car park (950 spaces). Visit the Grand Arcade car park website.
If you prefer not to drive into town, simply leave your car at Trumpington Park and Ride. The bus service runs every 10 minutes and will bring you right outside our door.
All Cambridge city centre car parks are priced to encourage short and medium stays.
For long stays, the efficient Park and Ride system offers convenience and exceptional value for money. Note: The Park and Ride at Trumpington operates seven days a week.
For more information on Park and Ride routes and timetables, visit Cambridgeshire County Council`s website.
You simply place your online order by 7pm today, and we'll deliver it to your chosen shop for you to collect after 2pm tomorrow. This service is available from all John Lewis shops, and in an increasing number of selected Waitrose branches.
The service is available for most but not all of the items we sell, so please check individual product pages when you place an order. We're unable to accept orders that include items for collection from one of our shops as well as items for delivery, so in these cases, please place two separate orders – one for collection and one for delivery.
Customer Collection Point refurbishment
Our Customer Collection Point on the Ground floor is currently being refurbished. To collect small parcels please visit the temporary collection point in the Linens department. You'll still be able to pick up large, heavy items from the collection point in the car park.

We're proud of the close links we forge between our Partners and local schools, charities and organisations. And wherever we do business, at home or abroad, we work with communities to make a difference. That's why:
Community Matters is a charitable giving scheme that runs throughout our shops.
Every 3 months each shop selects 3 community groups to help. Customers are then directly involved in deciding how much each nominated group receives, by using a token to vote for the organisation they'd like to support.
Each shop has £3000 to donate which will be split between the charities according to the proportion of the vote they've received from customers. This means that if a charity receives 31% of the votes, it'll receive a £930 donation.
Charities will receive support in whichever way will benefit them the most, either in the form of John Lewis products, volunteering time from Partners, or as financial support.
The Community Matters boxes will be located in catering areas of each shop. Customers will be given one token per transaction, and will be able to follow how much of the vote each organisation receives over the 3 months.
Organisations eligible for Community Matters include charities, schools and relevant community groups. Partners will look at the requests that are submitted and choose 3 organisations to support for the following 3 months. Organisations that would like to be considered for Community Matters should visit their local John Lewis to pick up a nomination form.
