Advanced Fairisle and Steeking workshop with Vicki Walker

This is an advanced workshop which will involve: knitting in the round using the magic loop method; Fairisle with two hands; learn how to steek your project to make a mug cosy.


You'll need to bring a 3.25mm circular needle which is at least 80cm in length, a 4mm crochet hook and a pair of scissors for the steeking.


The cost of the workshop is £50 which includes tea, coffee and lunch, together with materials needed for use on the day, free patterns, a workshop pack with helpful tips and information and a 10% discount to use on Rowan products on the day. Stuart Hillard's 'Sew Fabulous' book signing

Stuart Hillard from the Great British Sewing Bee will be in the Haberdashery department signing copies of his new book, 'Sew Fabulous'.


Come and meet Stuart, talk about craft projects and get your new book personally signed by him.

Student shopping night

Touchwood Shopping Centre is hosting a student shopping night. Capital DJs will be there, as well as Jamie Laing from Made in Chelsea. We'll be offering make-overs and make-unders in our Beauty department, and demonstrating some of the latest elec and tech on the market.

Come and meet our Menswear team and discover the latest brands, services and new season fashions. Light refreshments will be provided, along with goodie bags.

Textured knits and cable with Alitzah Grant

This project-based workshop explores the myriad of effects that combining cables and textures together can create. You'll be creating an interesting, beautiful and truly tactile cushion cover. The workshop is also designed to give you the confidence to start experimenting with your own unique designs using the techniques discovered during the day.


The course is suitable for you if you're confident with basic knitting techniques. Please bring a pair of 4.5mm needles and a cable needle with you on the day.


The cost of the workshop is £50 which includes tea, coffee and lunch, together with materials needed for use on the day, free patterms, a workshop pack with helpful tips and information, and a 10% discount voucher to use on Rowan products on the day. Christmas bunting and baubles to knit and crochet with Alitzah Grant

This workshop looks at producing stunning and luxurious Christmas decorations. It's aimed at people who love to knit or crochet, or both! There will be 4 projects to choose from on the day.


Using the finest yarns of mohair, alpaca and cashmere you will be sure to produce something truly wonderful. Enough yarn will be supplied to complete one of the projects, but you'll receive all 4 patterns to take home. Please bring a 3mm hook and 3.25mm knitting needles with you.
