OXO Tot Sprout Highchair, Taupe/Birch
Needs some refinement to be great
I fully agree with Mrs Usually Happy. This is a lovely looking and very sturdy highchair. It's great with the tray as it fits very snugly around baby meaning she can be very independent. It is also very comfortable for her and she is happy sitting in it while I get her food ready.
BUT! If you are trying baby led weaning it has many flaws. Firstly the construction of the tray makes it hard to keep clean. There is a seam around the middle of the tray that collects debris. Secondly the seat pads are only waterproof on one sure and there is a big gap at the top of the seat pad which food gets stuck inside. Cleaning this is impossible as it isn't waterproof as a result it got very smelly within 6 weeks and we have thrown the pad away. Finally the velcro pads to stick the seat pad in are also havens for food and are very difficult to clean.
It's very close to being great, but the design needs refinement and to be tested in real scenarios.

Sturdy and nice-looking
I have been using this chair for more than a year now and still very pleased with it as it grows with your child.
It is sturdy and comfortable for your little one and looks good in a modern and stylish kitchen/living area.
Unlike some reviewers I don't find it hard to clean the tray. I clean it with a wet cloth on a daily basis and with anti-bacterial wipes from time to time to keep it fresh. The pads also come out for easy cleaning underneath. Over time I found the pads don't stick so well but not too bothered about that and I think they can be exchanged.
Well worth the money and still cheaper than the Stokke for which you need to spend money as each accessory is sold separately.

This review is based on 5 months of use, doing baby led weaning for a child now 11 months old. In summary, I wish I'd done what my friends recommended in the first place ie buying an easily-wipeable IKEA antilop high chair for the short time when baby needs a tray, then a Stokke tripp trapp for after.
Anyway, back to the chair I actually bought - the OXO Sprout:
Pros: looks nice and is sturdy. Can't see baby tipping this one over.
1 - cleaning is a faff: after each use I have as a minimum to (a) wipe the seat pad behind baby, (b) remove and clean the bottom seat pad on both sides, as food goes between the seat and pad in the arm rest area as well as between baby's legs (the pad is only wipeable on top but you do your best with the spongy velvety back), (c) carefully remove food from the vertical strut that holds up the tray and goes between baby's legs (food gathers in grooves at the top, and especially at the bottom), (c) wipe steps, (d) take the tray to the sink to clean top and underneath where baby will have wiped mucky fingers, (e) tilt the tray this way and that to try to make the water come out of the inside of the tray (some always goes in and drips on baby's lap otherwise during next use).
2 - questionable durability: having used non-abrasive sponges, water and Milton to clean this chair about three times a day for 5 months, the taupe finish on the seat pad is beginning to flake off, and the varnish is coming off the steps. The white velcro that is stuck to the seat and holds the seat pad in place is stained with food, but impossible to clean. This is all something to consider if you were thinking of selling this chair after you'd finished with it.
3 - limited use without tray: don't assume you can remove the tray and push the chair up to your table, as the bar between baby's legs sticks up quite high (in our case too high, even if you fiddle with the overall seat height).

Expected better for the money
I chose this chair as it was highly rated. However I have not found a great product.
We got it in Dec 2010 and it was stated to grow with your child. Since having it I have had to have a new tray as this broke and new cushions as they got worn through (even though it is not used during the day at all)
It is really hard to clean with lots of nooks and crannys and screw holes and you cannot submerge the tray to wash it.
Due to the high price I feel let down.
Yes it looks great in a kitchen but it is not practical or durable.

Just what we needed!
My daughter is almost a year now and I have been looking for a highchair for over 6 months. Looked at the babybjorn then brother max and finally came across Oxo Tot Sprout highchair. The Oxo Tot is fantastic was easy to assemble, easy to use, my 11 month old sits comfortably and enjoys it which is a plus.
Selling points for me were that its BPA free, phthalate free and PVC free. I'm glad it's not all plastic so it blends in well with our dining table.
All in all great product, worth every penny:) and safe for your baby:)

Love this chair! My baby is very comfortable in it and it's easy to keep clean. A great feature of the chair is that without the tray attached the chair fits under the table so my baby is part of the family at meal times. I highly recommend this chair.

The Best High Chair Available

"Brilliant high chair, attractive, compact and perfect for a small house. Easy to assemble, use, clean and my little girl smiles when she goes in it! 5 stars!"

A lovely highchair, it looks well made and looks very good in a smart dining room or a kitchen. It appears to be comfortable to sit in and my daughter and granddaughter like it. There is a bonus in that when baby is older the tray can be removed so it becomes a sit at table chair. It may seem expensive but the quality is clear to see.
