Panasonic DMR-PWT530EB 3D Blu-ray/DVD/HDD 500GB with Freeview HD Twin Recorder

Product information

Not just a Blu-ray player, Panasonic’s DMR-PWT530 comes with enough storage to keep track of your favourite programmes, as well as dual HD tuners so you can record more at once. It’ll also add new life to your DVDs with easy 3D upscaling. This smart-enabled reorder even has access to the Viera Connect service, giving you a world of entertainment from social media like Facebook to movies.

Key benefits:

  • Because the recorder is equipped with two Freeview HD tuners, two different TV programmes can be recorded simultaneously. There is no need to worry about missing out on recording a programme when two programmes overlap.

  • With a huge 500GB of storage you can record up to 129 hours of HD, or 259 hours of SD content with the push of a button.

  • Pansonic’s Viera Connect service gives you access to content like Netflix, YouTube and Facebook from the comfort of your armchair.

  • By registering with the Panasonic Remote Recording Service, you can navigate and search on the programme guide and set timer-recording of TV programmes using your smartphone or tablet from anywhere with an internet connection.

  • Send a recorded programme or live broadcast to your Android Tablet or iPhone/ iPad/ iPod touch wirelessly, then watch the content wherever you like in your home.

  • The DMR-PWT530 also comes with DLNA. Just connect to your home network and stream media easily from connected computers and other devices.

  • Incredibly fast switch on and start up times mean that this player is ready to play a movie in moments.

Q & As

Panasonic DMR-PWT530EB 3D Blu-ray/DVD/HDD 500GB with Freeview HD Twin Recorder 4 5 17 17
Great piece of equipment This DVD player is easy to use and the price was excellent! As usual John Lewis staff gave good advice. 05 August 2014
Connectivity is extremely poor PANASONIC DMR-PWT530 – DVD Recorder with HDD. Picture quality is good but connectivity with other devices is virtually non-existent. There is only one HDMI port which is used up for TV. There’s no spare port to connect a Top Box such as Sky+HD – not even a socket for Scart lead. That means hundreds of channels on Sky can not be recorded. Freesat is not accommodate either. You can only record what is available on Freeview which extremely limited. I’m not so sure if this particular model is value for money – sorry. 09 July 2014
easy & stylish I bought this for an older person with little technical know how It is easy to use & the quality is what you would expect from Panasonic Its good to be able to play a dvd & record two programmes all at the same time Happy with the purchase & price 09 July 2014
DMR-PWT 530 recorder This is a wonderful piece of kit. Brilliant picture and easy to set up and use and I`m nearly 80 years old. Highly recommended. 06 July 2014
Easy to use hd recorder Found the Panasonic 3D blueray recorder easy to set up and use and being the same manufacturer as the smart TV found that the recorder's remote control operates both pieces of equipment-excellent! 27 May 2014
Just a great product I wanted to update my free-view watching and after reading up on so many Blu-rays, I am so pleased that I chose this one. It was easy to set up. Picture is great after a few personal adjustments. I chose the smart Blu-ray as I did not want it on the TV but have yet to use this. The recording is easy to record and play back. I cannot find any fault and have recommended to friends. 30 April 2014
disappointing I needed to return this since I use old sky box and old sky box does not have HDMI socket so I could not connect this recorder to my sky box at all. I just found out freeview antenna is difficult to install to where I live also , so not much point to have this product. I will just buy freesat tuner and blueray player with wifi built in. Cheaper and I am sure it will work faster also. This machine also is very slow to start up. Unbelievable wait. Also I bought dongle for wifi to work but it does not work very well, each time I tried to watch BBC iplayer, it kept saying not able to find connection but actually it is connected. Very difficult to change over functions. I have been trying to work this machine for all day today and I give up. I am afraid this needs to go back. If you do not have freeview aerial already do not buy this product. And only has HDMI sockets not able to use scart cables at all. 17 April 2014
PVR bought for my parents I bought this for my parents who are senior citizens and not very tech-savvy. It's very simple to use and they're able to record their programmes and watch them by only pushing a few buttons - very important when faced with a complicated remote control! The quality of the picture, especially on the HD channels, is excellent and all made simpler as the box is linked in to a Panasonic TV so all compatible. All-in-all, this is a very good buy and reasonably priced. 03 April 2014
